]]> Powered jelly donuts, known as Sufganiyot in Hebrew, are a traditional dessert shared over the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. Fluffy on the outside with a delicious, sweet center, this recipe will teach you how to make these tasty treats in your own kitchen.

Ready The Dough

Stir flour, granulated sugar, yeast, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl, and then add egg yolks, warm water, and butter. Then beat the mixture until the dough is smooth. You’ll then need to place the dough in a large bowl coated in oil.

Make The Donuts

Cover the bowl and let the contents rise for one and a half hours. Cut the dough into eight round pieces and preheat your oven to 350°F. Place four dough rounds in hot oil and cook in the oven until each side is golden brown. Do the same for the remaining donuts.

Finishing Touches

Allow donuts to stand and cool for 10 minutes. Then, get some jam and use a butter knife to place it in the center of each donut. Finally, sprinkle confectioners’ sugar on the outside of each donut before serving.
