Tlayudas
If you’ve ever heard of something called “Mexican pizza,” tlayudas are what inspired them. This food is most common in the city of Oaxaca and is made of fried dough and topped with mole sauce, meat, cheese, and veggies.
Tortas
Tortas are the Mexican equivalent to a sub sandwich, and are very common in street stands. Different regions have their own spins on the dish, which is a hearty mid-day snack for many.
Elotes
Finally, elotes are a well-known street delicacy in Mexico. This consists of a cob of grilled corn which is then basted with mayonnaise, lime juice, and powdered chili. Yum.
