Yorkshire pudding is an English staple that is perfect for Sunday lunch, with roast beef, or however you like!

Recipe

  1. Into the bowl of a stand mixer, add in 4 room temperature eggs.
  2. Then add in 300 ml of any type of milk, and turn on the mixer starting at a medium speed and then increase it to high.
  3. Turn off the mixer and let it stand for 15 minutes.
  4. After you’ve left it, turn the mixer back onto the medium-high and slowly add in 250 grams of all-purpose flour that’s been sifted. The best way to do this is just to put in 1 tablespoon or so at a time.
  5. You can let it rest for a while if you need to, or use the batter straight away.
  6. A little while before you want to cook it, preheat your oven to the highest setting it will go, or at least 475 F, and pour in some vegetable oil into either muffin tins for individual puddings or a baking dish for one big one. The reason for this is that the hot oil will make the pudding puff up, so you need it to have been in the oven heating up already.
  7. Pour the batter into whatever dish you want to use, and if you’re using one big dish, it’ll take about 15 minutes.
  8. You’ll know it’s done when it’s grown and puffed up and is lovely and golden brown on top.
