Are you a fan of maple syrup? If so, you absolutely have to check out one of the newest tourist experiences that are available to lovers of this delicious, gooey treat.

In the U.S. state of Vermont, where most of the maple syrup is produced in this country, tourists can now visit maple syrup farms and sugarhouses in order to learn a little more about how this famous food is produced!

Vermont is home to several maple syrup operations that offer guided tours and visits to people who are interested in learning more about the fascinating process of producing maple syrup. From Baird Farm in Chittenden to Sugarbush Farm in Woodstock, you will find maple syrup farms dotted throughout the state.

If you choose to visit one of the many farms that are open to visitors, you will learn more about how sap is harvested from maple trees and then boiled and refined into maple syrup.

If you visit from the months of February to April, you might even be lucky enough to see the sap being drained from trees and the process of making maple syrup in action!

So, if you are looking for a unique foodie tourist experience, check out the many maple syrup farms that Vermont has to offer.

Itโ€™s hard to believe, but we are almost in December! The last month of the year might be better known for holidays such as Christmas, New Yearโ€™s Eve, and Hanukkah, but there are plenty of food holidays to celebrate as well.

Here are some December food holidays that weโ€™ll be celebrating in the upcoming month!

National Cookie Day: December 4th

National Cookie Day will be celebrated on a Wednesday this month, and my suggestion is to make a batch to take to work for a mid-week pick-me-up! National Cookie Day is a day to celebrate one of the worldโ€™s most treasured desserts.

National Maple Syrup Day: December 17th

Maple syrup is one of my favorite sweet treats. This delicious liquid, which is obtained from a fascinating process in which the sap of maple trees is painstakingly collected and refined, can be used to top breakfast favorites such as pancakes and french toast.

National Bacon Day: December 30th

If you thought that the last days of the month of December were only reserved for the excitement of the New Year, you thought wrong! National Bacon Day on December 30th is a celebration of this delicious meat that youโ€™ll find on breakfast plates and on trendy hamburgers.

National Pear Month

Pear is a classic autumn and winter fruit, meaning that December has been designated as National Pear Month. These little beauties are delicious on their own, in desserts, or baked in the oven and topped with honey and cinnamon.
