]]>It all starts with oats. Ordinary oats are just fine to use, and, in fact, work better than steel-cut oats, which can be too rough. The oats require softening, so soak them in some water for about 15 minutes to plump them up.
Once your oats have soaked, it’s time to rinse them to remove the starch. Drain the liquid using a fine-mesh strainer and rinse the oats for around 30 seconds, until the water runs clear.
Place the softened oats in a blender and add in some maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. You can obviously make the milk as sweet as you wish! Add in 4 cups of water and blend until smooth.
Once your mixture is fully blended, push it through a strainer and try to get out as much liquid as possible. Transfer the milk into a resealable container and let it chill until it’s time for coffee.
