Having been the ruling monarch for 70 years, it’s understandable that Queen Elizabeth would have needed a drink every now and then. After all, she reigned during a couple of wars, 15 Prime Ministers, the sudden death of the Princess of Wales, Britain leaving the European Union, and a global pandemic.

In light of her recent passing, royalists have been honoring the late Queen by making the drink that was widely known as her favorite—gin and Dubonnet. If you were wondering, Dubonnet is a fortified wine with a spicy, fruity taste. Cheers, Your Majesty!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Dubonnet
  • 1 ounce gin
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 2 large ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Add the Dubonnet and gin into a shaker. Stir with a bar spoon until fully chilled.
  2. Place the ice cubes and lemon wedge in a whisky tumbler, or whichever cocktail glass you have. Strain the cocktail into the glass over the ice and lemon. Done!
