Almond butter is officially taking over! Forget about peanut butter, this is the new health trend you need in your life. If you are not happy with the butter you can buy in the store, there is always the option of making it at home. So many food influencers do that, so you can as well. The whole process takes around half an hour.

Ingreidents

The recipe is so basic that the only thing you need is 3 cups of almonds, or about one pound. They should be unsalted.

Instructions

To prepare the almond butter, you will need a food blender or a processor. Put the almonds in the oven and cook them for 10 minutes at a temperature of 350 F degrees.

Put the almonds in a processor or blender. Use an “S”- shaped blade to turn them into a creamy consistency.

You will notice the almonds turning into a flour-like consistency, and when you continue blending, you will get the wanted butter. It will take some time, but don’t quit, you’ll get there. The whole process can take up to half an hour.

When you get that almond butter you can put it in a jar. The best place to keep it is in the fridge. It can actually last up up to a month.

Peanuts have held the stake where nut spreads are concerned for a long time, even though it’s actually a legume!

With legumes being struck off the menu for many diets these days, peanut butter as the spread of choice is being challenged by other nuts coming through the ranks.

Here are some alternatives to peanut butter that you can make yourself.

And whatโ€™s great about making your own nut butters is that they are usually better than store-bought and you can use any nuts you fancy!

Almond Butter

Loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin E, almonds help to regulate cholesterol and blood pressure, improve your skin, and keeps you more regular due to all its fibre.

If you aren't licking your screen at the thought/sight of Cinnamon Almond Butter, then check your operating manual because I think your default mode is set to "lame". โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Get all the important recipe tips on the blog BEFORE making the recipe. Link to the post is in my bio. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € INGREDIENTS 3 1/2 cups raw almonds 1 tbsp coconut oil melted 1/4 tsp sea salt 2 tbsp ground cinnamon โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € HOW TO Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Combine the almonds, coconut oil, salt, and 1 tbsp of cinnamon in a medium bowl and toss to coat. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Spread on a rimmed baking sheet. Roast for 9 minutes and stir. Roast another 6 minutes. Right about now your house is going to smell so amazing that spontaneous weeping may occur. Allow to cool until you're able to handle the almonds (about 15 minutes). โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Add nuts to the bowl of a food processor, and process for two minutes. Scrape the sides, taste and add the additional tbsp of cinnamon (or to taste). Blend for another three minutes. Process for another three minutes or until it has reached your desired texture. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € If you prefer chunky almond butter (that's me), add in 1/2 cup of chopped almonds at this point. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Roast about 2 cups of almonds and place in a food processor with some avocado or coconut oil and feel free to add some vanilla essence and even cinnamon for flavor.

Macadamia Butter

Macadamias are full of all the good fats you need in your life, and can also help prevent diabetes and even weight gain.

Creamy macadamia nut butter can be made even more indulgent by adding in melted white chocolate!

Cashew Butter

Cash(ew) us outside, how โ€˜bout that!

The Portuguese seeds boast high levels of iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, phosphorus, and manganese. Theyโ€™re also insanely delicious. Even more so if you add in freeze-dried strawberries when processing.
