But what we call “bacon” has changed over time. As far as 4,000 years ago, the Chinese used pork curing techniques in order to preserve meat and all pork was referred to as “bacon.”
While it would be a stretch to say that bacon is healthy, it’s certainly better than many other choices you may make on a daily basis. You’ll be just fine if you eat two average strips of fried bacon with an egg once per week for breakfast.
