Corn on the cob season is upon us and it’s the perfect time to go out on the farmer’s market and grab some fresh corn ears. They can be turned into a snack, side dish, or even a full meal if you are not too demanding. The only question is: “how to cook them?”

If you are in doubt, check out our four ways to cook corn on the cob and choose the one that is most convenient for you and gives you the taste you are looking for.

Boiling

This is the simplest way to cook corn on the cob. Just bring a pot of water to a boil, dropped the shucked corns in the water, and cover them with a lid. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for around eight minutes. If you are afraid of overcooking or undercooking the corn, take one out, run it under cold water, and give it a taste.

Grill

In case you like some char on your corn, then grilling is the method for you. After you’ve fired up the grill to high heat, place corn directly on it. Cook for 10 minutes while flipping it every few minutes. Remove from grill, brush with some butter, salt, and enjoy.

Microwave

Your microwave is ready to step in here as well. The only downside to this technique is that you only should cook one corn at a time.

The process is very simple. Just pop in the corn (without shucking it) in the microwave. Set it on high heat and let it cook for four minutes. Remove it using a paper towel and let it rest for five minutes. Remove the husk and silk, salt it, and dig in.

Oven

The oven is also a great way to cook corn on the cob, although it’ll take you a bit more time. Preheat the oven to 375F. Take a piece of aluminum foil and place a shucked corn on it. Add salt, pepper, and a piece of butter on top of the corn. Wrap the foil around the corn and place directly on the oven rack while making sure the butter side is facing up. Cook for half an hour before removing the corn from the oven. Let it cool down before unwrapping.
