However, in some countries, these gastropods are one of the most popular fine dining options out there. Here are three countries where snails are popular and enjoyed as a delicacy.

France

The French know sails as escargot, and they are a favorite throughout the country. The French are known worldwide for their love of snails. They are often served with a light butter sauce that includes parsley and other herbs.

Indonesia

The Indonesian style of eating snails is one of the most unique that you’ll find anywhere. After being extracted from their shells, snails are placed onto a wooden skewer and cooked over a fire, satay style.

RESEP SATE KAKUL Bahan Sate Kakul : – 400 gram kerang darah – 2 batang serai (ambil putihnya) – 1 sendok makan air asam jawa – ½ sendok teh garam – 400 ml air – 25 tusuk sate Bahan Bumbu Halus : – 6 siung bawang merah – 2 siung bawang putih – 2 cm jahe – 1 cm kencur – 2 buah kemiri sangrai – 1 sendok teh terasi – 1 sachet Saus Tiram Selera Bahan Saus : – 2 siung bawang putih (haluskan) – 2 sendok makan minyak sayur – 100 gram kacang tanah goreng (haluskan) – 50 gram kelapa sangrai (haluskan) – 1 sendok makan kecap manis – 1 sendok teh garam – 200 ml air panas – 1 bungkus BonCabe level 10, rasa Original (7,5gr) Cara membuat Sate Kakul : 1. Rebus kerang dengan serai, air asam jawa dan garam. Masak hingga matang, tiriskan. 2. Campurkan kerang dengan bumbu halus, aduk rata dan diamkan selama 15 menit. 3. Tusuk kerang dengan tusuk sate dan bakar diatas teflon hingga matang. Cara membuat Saus : 1. Tumis bawang putih sampai harum. 2. Masukkan kacang tanah dan kelapa sangrai. Bersamaan dengan kecap manis, garam dan air. 3. Masak hingga matang dan tambahkan BonCabe level 10, aduk rata. Matikan api. 4. Sajikan Sate Kakul dapat disajikan dengan sausnya.
