Homemade Naan

A post shared by Lynn Ⓥ (@strappedforcashews) on

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of self-rising flour; or, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Recipe

  1. First, if you do not have self-rising flour, you can make it quickly and easily! All you need to do is whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt so they’re well incorporated and that will work as the self-rising flour for the recipe.
  2. Combine the yogurt and flour together in a stand mixer and let it knead the dough for 3 minutes. Or, if you’re doing it by hand, use a wooden spoon to mix it until it’s well combined and then knead in the bowl for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Cut the dough into 4 sections if you want bigger pieces of naan or more if you want smaller pieces.
  4. Roll the dough sections into a ball and then lightly flour a surface and roll out the balls into oblong pieces.
  5. Heat a pan on medium-high heat and heat up half the olive oil.
  6. Without crowding the pan, cook all the pieces for 3-4 minutes on each side and add more oil with each batch.
  7. Enjoy!
