If you always order Mongolian beef in restaurants, it’s about time you learned how to do it at home as well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 pound flank steak cut into thin 1 1/2” strips
  • 5 dried red chilis
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic pressed through a garlic press
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • rice for serving

Instructions:

Start by making the sauce. Mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and brown sugar together in a bowl.

Add salt, pepper, and cornstarch to the steak slices. Grab a skillet and pour 4 tablespoons of the vegetable oil.

Place the skillet on the stove and wait for the oil to be completely heated up. You can now start adding the slices of steak. Cook each side until it’s completely done.

Set the heat to medium-low and heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Start cooking the red chilis for half a minute before adding the garlic and ginger. Cook for another half a minute.

Now, include the meat and cook for 30 seconds. Mix in the sauce, onions and cook again for half a minute. Serve the Mongolian beef on top of rice.

Ingredients

For the chicken cordon bleu recipe you need:
4 6-oz skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
5 teaspoons melted butter
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup fat-free less-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 thin slices prosciutto
1 minced large garlic clove
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon grated fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

Set the oven to 350 F degrees.

Heat the broth either in the microwave or on the stove. When it’s warm, you can add the garlic and butter in the bowl.

In another bowl, mix the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, breadcrumbs, and the paprika.

Get plastic wrap, and wrap the chicken breasts with it. Start pounding until they are 1/4 inches thick.

Season them with oregano, salt, and pepper. Add half a slice of prosciutto on each breast and 1 tablespoon of mozzarella cheese.

Roll the breasts and start placing them first in the broth, then in the breadcrumbs mix. You will need a baking dish to place the meat in.

When you’re done, cook in the oven for 28 to 30 minutes.

Ingredients

To make the meatballs you should get:
2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs

1/3 cup minced fresh parsley

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 10-1/2 oz cans condensed undiluted beef consomme
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

Also, get 1-16 oz pack of egg noodles, 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley, and 1/4 cup cubed butter.

Instructions

Start by combining all the ingredients for the meatballs. Mix them well and you can start shaping the meatballs. You should get around 36.

Cook them in a skillet and place them on a plate to drain.

For the sauce, begin cooking the flour and then add the milk. You should get a smooth mixture. Include the Worcestershire sauce, beef consomme, salt, and pepper.

When the mixture starts boiling wait for 2 more minutes for the sauce to become thick.

Lower the heat, then include the meatballs. Leave the Swedish meatballs to cook for 15 to 20 minutes.

While you’re waiting, cook the noodles together with the butter. Combine everything together and top it off with parsley.

You really can’t go wrong with meatballs. The ingredients are cheap, you can make it to your taste, and they go really well with multiple kinds of meals. If your mouth isn’t salivating yet from these Tex-Mex style meatballs, it will be soon enough.

  1. Put ground beef in a bowl and combine it with breadcrumbs and a few beaten eggs, depending on how much beef you’re using.
  2. Add in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Chop up some parsley and cilantro and add that to the bowl as well.
  4. Finally, mix everything together with your hands to make sure everything gets incorporated well.
  5. Then, take a small bit of the mix, and put a piece of cheese or a cheese cube in the middle of it and form a ball around it.
  6. When all the meatballs have been made, put them in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up.
  7. Heat up some oil in a pan and put a layer of the meatballs in the pan. Cook on each side until they’re nice and brown.
  8. To serve the meatballs, you can put them over Mexican-style rice, in a taco, or on their own with some fresh salsa.
