]]>You will know when an avocado is ready to be eaten by how firm it is. It should be the perfect balance between soft and firm, and not fully cave when you squeeze it! Another trick is to pull the stem of it off, and if its green its ready! If you are buying multiple avocados, we recommend buying them extra firm and putting a few in a brown bag next to some bananas to ripen. This way they won’t ripen all at once!
You will know when a pineapple is good when the bottom of it smells fragrant and fruity! Another trick is to pull a stem out. If it gives easily, then that pineapple is ready to go. Just don’t let it sit too long after, because they can overripe rather quickly.
We recommend purchasing bananas that are yellow and green. They only take a day or two to ripen at that point, and this way they wont be overripe too quickly by the time you are ready to eat them. If this happens though, you can always make a homemade banana bread!

]]>If you can’t wait for days you can simply use a paper bag. Place the bananas in and close the bag. This is one of the most efficient ways to ripen bananas and it only takes up to one day. Ethylene is the gas that will appear in the bag and will speed up the process. The best thing is that everyone has a bag at home and you don’t even have to check up on the bananas.
Another super-efficient trick to ripen bananas, especially if you don’t have too much time on your hands. Place the bananas in the microwave for half a minute up to two minutes.
This one might sound strange, but it definitely works. Use a temperature of around 300 F degrees and ten minutes up to half an hour. Make sure to check them once or twice.
