]]>A Viennese classic, apple tart has been around for years now. The oldest apple strudel recipe that we know of actually dates back to 1697! And there’s a good reason why it’s still so popular. The classic version is made of strudel pastry, filled with a mix of grated apples, cinnamon, sugar, and raisins. But hey, feel free to create your own version of this delicious dessert.
This one is originally from England, even though it has come to be known as an iconic American food over the years. It contains generous amounts of dough, with pastry holding the apple filling in place on both ends (top and bottom); and is normally served with ice cream or whipped cream for some extra corruptness. It’s pretty hard to resist such rich, sugary comfort food.

]]>Fill a large dutch oven with 1 1/2 inches of oil and heat to 350°F. Then, in a large mixing bowl, mix granulated sugar with half a teaspoon of pie spice before setting aside.
In another large bowl, whisk together baking powder, brown sugar, flour, salt, and another half a teaspoon of pie spice. In a separate bowl, whisk together vanilla, egg, and cider. Then mix both bowls together to form the batter mix.
Peel and core a granny smith apple. Grate on half of it and cut the remaining half into 1/4 pieces. Then gently fold these apple strips into the batter.
Add two tablespoons of batter into the oil at a time and fry for 2-4 minutes, turning once. When they have turned golden brown, take them out and add two more tablespoons of batter.
When the warm fritters are ready, toss them in the frosting sugar-spice mixture and then they’re ready to serve.

Topping
Filling
Heat your oven to 180 degrees C, or 350 degree F.
Take the kilogram of apples, peel them, and then cut them into pieces that about an inch in length. Leave them in a bowl.
Now, to make the topping, put the flour, salt, and brown sugar into a bowl. Cut pieces of room temperature butter into small cubes and add into the dry mixture. Use your fingers to “rub” the butter into the dry mixture until the butter becomes integrated.
After this, add the flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar for the filling to the apple slices. Mix them together well.
Spoon the apple mixture into a shallow baking dish, and then spoon the topping mixture on top, being sure to cover evenly.
Cook for 30-45 minutes, or until golden brown, and take out of the oven. Wait for your apple crumble to cool, and then enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream as a topping!

Well, autumn might be coming up soon, but if it’s still warm out, cinnamon apple ice cream is the perfect dessert to try! The creaminess of the ice cream balances out the spicy, tart tones of cinnamon apples perfectly, making a tasty and refreshing dessert for all to love.
Baking apples is one of the best ways to turn them even more decadent and delicious. Filling them with a cinnamon-sugary oatmeal filling makes them even more succulent. You’ve got to try this.
French toast topped with sauteed apples is one of my favorite ways to put a twist on the classic breakfast staple. You can have this either for breakfast or for dessert. Yum.
