Thanks to the wonders of technology and cold storage, most places get apples all year round–which is amazing news for both our health and palates. Eating an apple a day to keep our doctor away is lovely, but it can be really nice to consume apples in some more creative ways sometimes, too. Here are two ideas for yummy desserts you can make using apples.

Apple Strudel

A Viennese classic, apple tart has been around for years now. The oldest apple strudel recipe that we know of actually dates back to 1697! And there’s a good reason why it’s still so popular. The classic version is made of strudel pastry, filled with a mix of grated apples, cinnamon, sugar, and raisins. But hey, feel free to create your own version of this delicious dessert.

Apple Pie

This one is originally from England, even though it has come to be known as an iconic American food over the years. It contains generous amounts of dough, with pastry holding the apple filling in place on both ends (top and bottom); and is normally served with ice cream or whipped cream for some extra corruptness. It’s pretty hard to resist such rich, sugary comfort food.
