Are you a fan of bagels? This classic breakfast item is most commonly enjoyed toasted and with a topping such as cream cheese or butter, but there are a lot of ways to be creative with these doughy pieces of bread.

If you’re looking to make something a little more out-of-the-box and filling, here are three great bagel creations to try.

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese

Smoked salmon and cream cheese are a classic combination, pairing the salty and smoky flavors of the salmon with the creamy, smooth texture of cream cheese. If you like salmon and aren’t afraid to eat fish early in the day, this is for you.

Avocado and Egg

Avocado and egg go so well together, and inside of a bagel is no exception. We like making over-easy eggs and letting the partially-cooked yolk spill out all over the avocado and into the bread, making for a soft flavor explosion.

Nutella

Have a sweet bagel on your hands and no idea what to do with it? Why not make a Nutella bagel? Spread this chocolate hazelnut cream inside of a bagel like a cinnamon sugar bagel and enjoy.

What’s your favorite food to eat for breakfast? For most people, the answer is some combination of eggs, bacon, toast, and cereal. But why do we typically consider these foods breakfast foods?

When you think about it, it’s clear that you can eat virtually any food in the world and fill up for breakfast, and yet we tend to repeat several breakfast options again and again, not even thinking about introducing something else. This, of course, depends on where you live and is different in different cultures.

Western breakfast staples like eggs and sausage date back to Ancient Rome, though people’s habits were very different back then. Over time, we developed the need for a nutritious and fast breakfast because our lives kept getting busier and busier.

Cereal became a breakfast staple thanks to the food industry that promoted them as healthy for a long time. If you’re following food and health trends, then you know that cereal and some other well-known breakfast items (like orange juice) are decreasing in popularity and being replaced with different things, like porridge and plant-based milk.

How's my Danish bacon to pancake ratio? 🥓🥞😏 I'm back from my first ever visit to Denmark's capital of Copenhagen (what the hell took me so long?!) 🇩🇰 And guys, I have completely fallen for this city 💙 __ The dining scene is outstanding and the sustainability credentials are off the hook (organic and eco-friendly are increasingly becoming the standard) 🌱 It's got all the interesting stuff and innovation of other cool cities, but with a fraction of the people 🙌 I also had the best steak tartare I've ever had, as well as the best pastry I've ever had. BIG claims 🥐 __ Thank you to all of you who followed my Copenhagen stories and for your ace messages (mostly acute bouts of 🤤😍😵). I'll be creating a full YouTube / IGTV video from the trip with plenty of info about each place, plus more Instagram posts to come. I honestly can't wait to return and I would be lying if I said the prospect of living there hasn't crossed my mind..! 🤫 __ This was the great breakfast spread where I stayed @scandickodbyen in the Meatpacking district. Which happens to be an appx. 5 min walk from the best hotdogs in the city, and also a little taco place that's been voted the best street food in Europe 😶 Stay tuned for lots more – I haven't been this pumped about a new city for ages 💙 I'm sure lots of you guys have been to Copenhagen before, what did you think? 🇩🇰 #bestofcopenhagen . . . . . #gastropost #foodmatters #foodinstagram #foodilike #foodphotooftheday #foodphotograph #foodandwine #beautifulcuisines #thekitchen #tablesituation #weekendbrunch #igerscopenhagen #breakfastfordinner #recipeoftheday #breakfastgoals #breakfastporn #breakfastlover #brunchtime #breakfastideas #breakfastclub #brunching #breakfastfood #thecutlerychronicles #brunchgoals #tastemade #topcopenhagenphoto #denmark🇩🇰 #igersdenmark #madeindenmark

Here are some of our top recommendations for breakfast food at dinner time.

French Toast

French toast is a sweeter option for breakfast at dinnertime, but it’s filling and really tasty. You can serve French toast with fruit or with bacon or sausage if you’re looking to turn it into a complete dinner!

Omelettes

As a savory option, omelettes at dinnertime are a natural and perfect option. You can let your creativity run wild while making omelettes, adding whatever ingredients you prefer to make a delicious egg creation. Yum!

Avocado Toast

Another savory choice for breakfast at dinner, spreading a mashed avocado on top of a slice of quality toasted bread is a winner that you will love when doing breakfast for dinner. Scrambled eggs go great with it, by the way.

Pancakes

Finally, another sweet option that’s perfect for a breakfast dinner is pancakes. Simple, yet fantastic, they are great topped with maple syrup and served with a protein option such as bacon or eggs.
