Are you someone who doesn’t enjoy eating meat, but not because of any of the typical reasons that normally influence vegetarians and vegans (reasons that are totally respectable, we’d like to add)? If that’s you, perhaps you just don’t like meat because you never ate the right variety or the right kind. If you don’t enjoy eating meat on its own, might we suggest trying it in a sandwich?

A Whole Different Experience

Perhaps you tasted a hunk of steak when you were young and from that moment on you turned yourself to all meat. But if you’re open to other options, a meat sandwich may be the right thing for you. Whether it’s a deli sandwich or a hamburger for that matter, it’s a completely different experience from eating meat on its own, and here’s why you might like it better.

It’s Mixed In With Other Foods

When it comes to steak or brisket, there’s no buffer room, no middleman—just the meat. If that’s too much for you, maybe it’s a texture thing. When you eat meat in a hamburger, there are many other players involved, such as lettuce, tomato, sauces, and of course bread. This changes the texture, and might actually change the way you look at meat while eating it.

As machines become more and more complex, automation is beginning to take over the world. From self-driving cars to inventions like Alexa and Siri, artificial intelligence now helps us in ways that most of us probably could’ve never envisioned.

Believe it or not, this technological revolution is beginning to extend to the world of food. All you need to see as proof of this phenomenon is Creator, a hamburger restaurant in San Francisco, in which the food is prepared by a fully automatic machine.

Instead of heading up to a counter, giving your order to a human being, and waiting for a team of people in a kitchen to prepare your food, at Creator, humans aren’t part of the process.

Instead, after placing your order to the hamburger machine, it miraculously whips up your burger without any human intervention.

While some might be a little weirded out by this kind of technological advance, it’s hard to argue with the price tag. You can get a burger for around $6 at Creator, which is unbelievably cheap in an expensive city such as San Francisco.

Did you know that hamburgers don’t always have to be served with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup?

It’s easy to get creative and add unique and flavorful toppings that aren’t so common to your next hamburger. The template of meat and a bun allows for endless variety, and you can go crazy based on the flavors that you enjoy.

Here are five suggestions for burger toppings that you might not have heard of, but that you might love.

Hummus

While it might be hard to picture this Middle Eastern delicacy being served on a burger, the combination of the meat along with the hummus is perfect. It’s even better if you add a vegetable like cucumber or tomato.

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Combining two classic sandwiches in one? Is this sacrilege? Although a PB&J burger might sound strange, the combination between sweet and savory will have your taste buds singing for joy.

Grilled Pineapple

If pineapple can work on pizza, why not on a hamburger? While grilling the beef patty, slap a thick slice of pineapple on the grill as well, and add it to the finished product. You’ll be surprised at how well it works.

Guacamole

The rich, savory, and creamy flavor of guacamole is another exciting addition to your favorite burger. You can try it with another compliment such as hot sauce or pepper jack cheese to give your burger a south-of-the-border vibe.

Garlic Confit

Garlic confit is made by frying whole garlic cloves in lots of oil until they are meaty. After this, the magic is ready to happen. Spread your garlic confit onto the bun and marvel in just how tasty this can be.
