Have you ever tried a samosa before? If not, you are missing out on one of Indian cuisine’s biggest gifts to gastronomy.

Although the most well-known and recognizable form of samosas come from India, samosas were actually invented in the Middle East and Central Asia. During the process of trade and cultural exchange between these regions, merchants from the Middle East brought samosas to India, where they became an important part of their cuisine.

Samosas consist of an outer shell made of a flour that is known as maida. This flour is used to make a dough that serves as the outside of a samosa.

After formulating the dough, the magic happens. The samosa dough is then stuffed and fried with a variety of ingredients, which vary depending on the area in India from which the samosas come, as well as personal taste.

Samosas generally contain a filling that includes vegetables (such as
onions, carrots, and peas) and/or meat (such as chicken or lamb). They most often contain boiled potatoes, which serve as the starchy base of the filling.

Yum!

So many people are scared to switch to being a vegan or vegetarian, because they think their choices will be very limited.

These are some of the best countries for vegetarians that will stimulate you to try a whole new way of eating.

Italy

Italian restaurants, bars and bistros are world-know for their amazing cuisine. When you first think of pasta and pizza, it becomes much harder being a vegan or vegetarian. But the good thing is that their menus include so many diverse options, you won’t be missing out on a thing.

India

Most people find it surprising to hear that most Indians stay away from meat. This country is such a treat for anyone who enjoys the vegetarian way of eating. Aside from their rich culture, the food is one of the main reasons why travelers from all over the world go to India.

Ireland

Ireland is one of the most exciting countries for vegetarians. Their dining scene is so diverse it can satisfy the taste of the pickiest eaters. Fun fact: this country has more vegetarian restaurants per capita than any other place in the world.

When you think of food from India, you probably think about dishes that are internationally known from this South Asian country. While curry and tandoori dishes might be what you’d seek out if you were to travel to India, the truth is that there are all kinds of cuisines to try there.

Sukrit & Kashish Jain, the curators of @thegreatindianfoodie, live in India’s massive capital of Delhi. On their fascinating Instagram account, they share some of the most mouth-watering snaps of food that they find throughout their city on a daily basis.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxPl5zLDqES/

You can check out all kinds of lesser-known traditional dishes from India on the Jains’ account. As these food bloggers are intimately aware of where to get the best food from their region and country in Delhi, you can count on snapshots of mouth-watering foods such as this pav bhaji.

Don’t get confused, however. Delhi’s gastronomic scene goes way beyond Indian food. The Jains give outsiders a window into just how diverse the offerings in this metropolis of 20 million people are, proving that there is a food style for everyone there.

So, if you’re curious about Delhi’s culinary scene, I highly recommend this account. You’ll be blown away by just how much variety and quality can be found there.

Indian cuisine is one of my personal favorites. Featuring a wide variety of different influences and compositions based on the region of the country from which it comes, Indian cuisine is extremely diverse and delicious.

Shivesh is a Delhi-based food blogger and photographer. He shares fantastic recipe ideas for baking, and photos of food from around his country at his account, @shivesh17. Most of his recipes are some twist on traditional Indian food and ingredient made into a pastry or dessert form.

The most impressive thing is that Shivesh is only 22 years old! Despite this, he’s already published a cookbook of his favorite baking recipes called Bake With Shivesh.

While most of the ideas and recipes that Shivesh shares use traditional Indian ingredients and are inspired by his home country, he isn’t afraid to step out of the box. For instance, these pancakes are more of an American classic, but they sure look good!

So, if you’re looking to add Indian-inspired pastries and desserts to your reputation, Shivesh is the guy you’ll want to follow. You’ll be wowing everyone in no time with his delicious recipes!

There are many Instagram pages revolving around food, but not all of them are original and unique enough to be noticed at a first glance. One guy from India, named Himanshu Sehgal, started an account named My Yellow Plate and it quickly gained over 40,000 followers.

“My Yellow Plate was not intentional. I never planned that I would pick up a yellow plate and go out looking for food,” Sehgal starts his story. “One fine day in 2015, my mom served me Rajma Chawal on this yellow plate. No one knows where it came from, it was just there in the kitchen. I remember taking a picture of it and sharing it on my personal Instagram profile.”

“It wasn’t a great shot but it still clicked with the viewers, getting several likes and comments from friends and family,” he continues. “This was probably because most Indian households use either steel thalis or pastel-colored crockery and a bright yellow plate was conspicuous. Intrigued, I decided to carry the yellow plate along with me while traveling. Every time I would eat on it, I would share it with people and let them know what’s on my yellow plate.”

WHEN IN MAJNU KA TILA. . Ab Dilli mein reh ke Majnu Ka Tilla nahi gaye aur Laphing nahi khaya…toh kuch nahi khaya. . What's on my yellow plate? Spicy Tibetan Laphing from a small stall in Majnu ka Tila run by Tenzen Sharma. She is selling Laphing at the same spot from last 3 years. . As you walk through the little tibet (Majnu ka Tila), you will come across many such small stalls where a lady/man will be busy making this less known yellow dish called Laphing and people sitting around relishing it. . Laphing is a noodle dish seasoned with spices. It is made from starches extracted either from potato or flour, and is cooked overnight. You can choose from dry or soup Laphing. Soupy Lhaping are cut and formed into noodles before being dipped into water and sauce made from dried chilies and vinegar and served with soya chunks on the top. A variety of spices including garlic, cloves, onions and coriander is thrown in to add to its flavor profile, along with a healthy dose of sesame oil. . Dry Lhaping is rolled with soya, salt, chilli paste, seasame oil and garlic paste and then chopped into pieces. This cold dish with amalgamation of distinct flavors takes your taste buds by storm, and is a culinary experience that you cannot miss. . It also makes a delicious social food in the tibetan community since it is easier to devour over gossiping and merry making with good company. On your next visit to Majnu Ka Tila, make sure you do not miss on this less known tibetan street food. . P.S Majnu Ka Tila gaye or Lhaping nahi khaya to kuch nahi khaya. #MyYellowPlate #Delhi #Incredibleindia
