]]> We hear it all the time: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But let’s be honest, when was the last time you didn’t rush out of the house in the morning and actually had the time to eat your breakfast in peace?

Spanish photographer Tessa Dóniga was inspired by this meal to create a series of surreal photos titled Break/Fast, due to the literal translation of the word to Spanish. She shows many different ways in which you can “break the fast” with this morning meal, some more literal than the others.

“The fact that I’m bilingual makes me wonder more,” Tessa told Gestalten. “When I try to translate some words into one language from another, I question myself. My challenge was to set in one image both terms in a visual composition that would be recognizable to the viewer.”

]]> A group of artists that work as an architectural studio QUATRE CAPS have decided to take a break from their regular work and do an artistic series of still life renderings that show fruits and vegetables wrapped in plastic, titled Not Longer Life.

They made a contemporary version of famous still life paintings by artists like Claude Monet and Juan Sánchez Cotán, but made the food appear wrapped in plastic to raise the awareness of unnecessary plastic use.

Today we are in the cover page of @designboom with a Project we made recently. The Project is a series of photographies that reflects on the use of plastic through a reinterpretation of some of the most famous still life paintings. https://www.designboom.com/…/quatre-caps-not-longer-life-r…/ https://www.designboom.com/ https://quatrecaps.com/ It is estimated that in 2020 the plastic production will reach around 500 millions tones. Most of them will take approximately 600 years to biodegrade. We are not aware of the energetic consumption and the environmental impact that means using an absurd plastic wrapping.
