Peppers are one of the most delicious summer veggies on the market and their incredible versatility is their strongest suit. You can use them to make all sorts of delicious dishes, but none of them are as popular as stuffed peppers and these three useful tips will help you master the art of making them.

Right Peppers

The type of peppers you choose can make or break this dish, and you should usually go for green and red bell peppers that are similar in size. The way you prep them makes all the difference, and pre-cooking them is always a good idea so they wouldn’t be too crunchy. When it comes to the stuffing technique, it’s up to you if you’ll cut them in half or just remove the tops.

Proper Prep

Pre-cooking your peppers isn’t the only part of your prep that shouldn’t be skipped. Most ingredients that you’ll use as stuffing should be pre-cooked, as well. Even though they’ll spend a lot of time in the oven, pre-cooking is a great way to ensure they’ll have the right texture and rich flavor.

Right Ingredients

It’s likely that you already have your go-to recipe that you love sticking to, but how about experimenting every once in a while? There’s more to life than rice and minced meat, so try adding some veggies, nuts, and cheese to the mix or even making your stuffed peppers fully plant-based.

One of the best comfort food dishes, without a doubt, is stuffed peppers. Amazingly easy to make and full of flavor, nothing makes us feel warmer on a cold night than tearing into a plate of these beauties.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to prepare Italian stuffed peppers at home? Here’s a recipe for you to try.

Ingredients

  • 3 Bell Peppers
  • 400 g ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • One cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ chopped white onion
  • 10 slices mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Start off by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F.

Next, you’ll want to halve your peppers and remove the seeds and all of the “guts” from the inside of them. Set them aside on a baking dish lined with aluminum foil.

Once you’ve done this, add the olive oil to a large frying pan and heat on medium heat. After you’ve done this, add the ground beef, tomato sauce, balsamic vinegar, red wine, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and chopped onion and cook. Stir occasionally.

When you see that the meat is almost cooked, add 4 slices of mozzarella cheese and stir in. This will give the peppers an added boost of creamy flavor.

When your meat is done cooking, fill the insides of the peppers with the ground beef mixture. After they’re full, top them with a slice of mozzarella cheese.

Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes, and enjoy!

Stuffed peppers are one of the best quick and easy dinner choices. Whether it’s stuffing them with cheese or with a mixture of meat, rice, and veggies, it’s so simple to prepare this filling and nutritious dish.

Plenty of peppers can be hollowed out and used for stuffing, and the ingredients that can be put into these peppers can range greatly. Here are some pepper ideas for the next time you decide to make this dish!

Bell Peppers

Bell peppers, whether they’re green, yellow, orange, or red, are a great choice for stuffing due to their large size and fairly neutral flavor. You can stuff them with whatever mix of rice, cheese, meat, and/or vegetables that you like. The possibilities are endless!

Poblano Peppers

This Mexican pepper is a great choice if you want to add a little bit of heat to your stuffed pepper experience. Adding Mexican sauces or cheeses in the stuffing that you choose for them is another great way to step up the flavor quotient.

Cherry Peppers

Are you looking for an Italian-themed stuffed pepper? Small cherry peppers might not hold quite as much as the first two options, but they work great due to their sharp and intense flavor. Stuffing them with fresh mozzarella, which balances out the heat of the pepper is especially great.

Chicken parmesan is a crowd-pleasing classic, and in many ways, it embodies the saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

It’s true. The standard chicken parmesan recipe we all know and love is far from broken, but that doesn’t mean we can’t experiment with new ideas, right? This revolutionary chicken parmesan recipe doesn’t have to replace the tried and true method of old, but it’s a nice way to freshen things up in the kitchen.

Whether you need food for a party, the family, or even just for yourself, these chicken parmesan stuffed peppers will hit the spot (and then some).

The Tools For The Job

The best part about making these chicken parm stuffed peppers is how easy they are. With just nine ingredients and an hours worth of time, you can bring a hefty plate of deliciousness into the world. So let’s take a look at what you need.

Ingredients

  • 2 large bell peppers (halved)
  • 3 cups of shredded, mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups of marinara sauce (homemade or canned)
  • 1 Tbsp. of minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. of finely cut parsley
  • 1 pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 12 oz. breaded chicken strips
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth

Now that you have your ingredients ready to go, it’s time to move on to the preparation.

Always Be Prepared

Some people are rogue chefs in that they don’t play by the rules and cook freely. That’s all fine and good, but leave that for the pros. You don’t want to be running around chopping onions and simmering sauces all at the same time.

It helps to have everything prepped and ready to go so the cooking process is quick and painless. You can start this recipe by cutting your bell papers in half and cleaning out their pits and seeds. Once done, set them aside on a rack above a roasting pan.

Next, grab a large mixing bowl and combine your mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, marina sauce, garlic, parsley, red pepper and breaded chicken strips. Stir it all together until the chicken strips are thoroughly coated.

Once you’re confident in your chicken coating abilities, stuff the chicken mixture into the pepper halves you set aside earlier. Don’t go overboard here, but put a healthy dose of the mixture in each one.

The reason for this is we’re going to sprinkle plenty of extra cheese on top of both stuffed peppers. After that, pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan, set your peppers on top of the rack, and bake for 55 minutes at 350º F.

Your Life Will Never Be The Same

https://www.instagram.com/p/BeIknAIArQz/?tagged=stuffedpeppers

When you see the cheese bubbling with a slight golden brown color, you’ll know you did the right thing. With just 15 quick minutes of prep and under an hour of cooking time, you’ve created a flavorful masterpiece.

Not only does it taste great, but with all that extra time to spare, think of what you can get done? You could give Sparky an extra 30 minutes of walking around the neighborhood. You can squeeze in one more episode of Friends. Or maybe—just maybe—you’ll pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read for the past year.

Cooking at home opens up a wealth of possibilities for your taste buds and your life, so start spending more time in the kitchen now!
