]]>Here is your guide to understanding the differences between them.
Scotch whiskey is considered to be the heaviest and “strongest” whiskey, in general. It is distilled twice and made using malted barley which has been smoked with peat, giving it its characteristic aroma and flavor. It’s usually blended to obtain different flavors from different batches.
Of the two whiskeys originating from the British Isles, Irish whiskey is definitely the smoother and lighter version. It is distilled three times and made using a mix of malted and raw barley, giving it a sweeter and more delicate flavor. It typically isn’t blended after being left in its copper vat.
Bourbon, the American version of the beverage, is markedly different. It is primarily made using corn, which produces the sweetest and lightest flavor of whiskey available between these three choices. The smoky flavor which makes bourbon unique is obtained from aging in charred oak barrels.

]]>The ingredients you should get are:
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup freshly pureed apples
1/3 cup whiskey
1/8 cup apple-infused simple syrup
For the apple puree, it’s your choice whether you want to strain it or not. Also, if you prefer you can peel the apples.
For the apple-infused simple syrup you need:
4 cups water
7 oz apple skins
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
You can start by preparing the simple syrup. In a saucepan mix the water and apple skins. Wait for the mix to start boiling, then let it simmer for 2 hours.
Strain the liquid from the apples and continue by adding the sugar. Cook it until you can’t see the sugar anymore.
For the apple whiskey sour cocktail, you will need a cocktail shaker. Fill half of it with ice, then pour the simple syrup, lemon juice, whiskey, and pureed apples. Shake it for half a minute.
The best glass for the drink is a whiskey glass. Fill it with ice, then strain the drink in the glass. You can decorate it with a slice of apple.

]]>The cold weather and short days can kill creativity and energy. Fear not, however, as this Irish Coffee recipe will warm up your body and soul, and will also have you whipping up drinks like a bartending master!
Start off by brewing two shots of strong espresso. Be sure that the coffee is high-quality and that it’s brewed plenty strong. This is important, as you don’t want the alcohol and the sweetness to overcome the coffee essence of the beverage.
Pour the coffee into a tumbler glass. Then, add the 1.5 teaspoons of brown sugar and stir to combine.
After this comes the Irish whiskey. You can use whichever brand you like—my personal favorite is Jameson. Add the one shot of Irish whiskey to the glass and stir.
Finally, you’re now ready to add the heavy cream. Be sure that the cream is chilled and has a good, heavy consistency. You are now carefully going to pour this cream over a spoon into the glass very gently. This will allow the cream to settle at the top of the beverage.
Now that your Irish coffee is ready, drink up, and enjoy!
