This Irish Coffee Recipe Will Warm You Right Up

In the doldrums of winter, it can be hard to find inspiration to get into the kitchen and make something that’ll help you feel better.

The cold weather and short days can kill creativity and energy. Fear not, however, as this Irish Coffee recipe will warm up your body and soul, and will also have you whipping up drinks like a bartending master!

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of strong espresso (4 parts)
  • 1 shot of Irish whiskey (2 parts)
  • 1.5 parts of heavy cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons of brown sugar

Start off by brewing two shots of strong espresso. Be sure that the coffee is high-quality and that it’s brewed plenty strong. This is important, as you don’t want the alcohol and the sweetness to overcome the coffee essence of the beverage.

Pour the coffee into a tumbler glass. Then, add the 1.5 teaspoons of brown sugar and stir to combine.

After this comes the Irish whiskey. You can use whichever brand you like—my personal favorite is Jameson. Add the one shot of Irish whiskey to the glass and stir.

Finally, you’re now ready to add the heavy cream. Be sure that the cream is chilled and has a good, heavy consistency. You are now carefully going to pour this cream over a spoon into the glass very gently. This will allow the cream to settle at the top of the beverage.

Now that your Irish coffee is ready, drink up, and enjoy!
