These types not only look different, but they also have different textures and flavors, and thus should be used for different purposes. Here are a few examples of types of potatoes and what you should do with them.

Russet

One of the world’s most popular potatoes, sometimes called Rooster potatoes. They have a russet-colored skin and a starchy flesh. You can bake, fry, or boil them, and they are great for mashing. They are less suitable for stuffing as they do not hold their shape well.

French Fingerling

Smooth skins and moist flesh, these keep their shape after cooking and so are great for roasting and braising, but also for potato salads. Their flesh is considered waxy, so they might not be the best choice if you’re making a mash.

New Potatoes

Another global favorite, are smaller, sweeter, and waxier than the fully grown types, and have relatively thin skins that would break easily. Make the best of them by brushing them with seasoned oil and letting them roast in the oven.

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions:

  1. To make the brussels sprout chips you need to prepare the brussels sprouts. First, remove the ends, and you can also take out the outer leaves.
  2. Grab a knife and start cutting the brussels sprouts into thin pieces.
  3. Get a plate and cover the pieces with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil, and powdered parmesan cheese.
  4. You can now place the brussels sprouts on a baking sheet. Make sure that the chips are in a single layer so that they bake properly.
  5. Turn the oven on and set it to 425 F degrees. Bake the brussels sprout chips for 10 minutes.

It can be really hard to find easy recipes for healthy snacks. Enjoying chocolate, cookies, chips, puffs all the time is definitely not a good idea. These beet chips are healthy, simple and only require three ingredients.

Ingredients:

These beet chips are literally the easiest snack you’ll ever make. You can use any type of beet that you prefer. For the recipe, you need to get 12 beets, 2 teaspoons celery salt and 1/2 cup olive oil. That’s it, only three simple ingredients.

Instructions:

The first step is to set the oven to preheat on 300 F degrees. You will need baking sheets, covered with parchment paper to place the beet chips on. Wash and peel the beets. A great idea is to mix several different types. Use a slicer to get very thin slices that look like actual chips. Once that’s done, you can get a large bowl and fill it with the slices. Add the olive oil and salt in the bowl and mix the chips very well. If you are using different beats, place them in separate plates. Let the slices in the bowls for 15 to 20 minutes. 

Remove all the liquid from them and you can now set them on the parchment paper. The recommended baking time is between 45 minutes and an hour. Check them out after 45 minutes and if you prefer them ultra-crisp, let the chips inside for extra 15 minutes.

Tortilla chips are a tasty and versatile snack. The crispy triangles stand up to the thickest guacamoles, salsas and dips. Heck, their salty corn flavor even makes them a tasty treat right out of the bag.

But if you want to coax some magical flavors out of a snack aisle, turn that bag of chips into a festive plate of chicken nachos. It’s easy and delicious. Here’s how:

It All Starts With A Big Bag Of Crispy Chips

White corn restaurant-style chips are light and crispy, not like the overly-crunchy and more rustic dense yellow-corn tortilla chips. The lighter-style chip works best as a nacho base because the chips will get toasted in the oven. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, line a baking sheet with foil, and lay down a base of chips.

Add Copious Amounts Of Cheese, Chicken and Whatever Else You’d Like

Sprinkle a cup of shredded mild cheddar or taco-style cheese over the chips. Pre-cooked chicken makes a delicious and convenient nacho protein choice. Anything from a shredded rotisserie chicken meat or packaged grilled chicken strips will work. Other great add-ons include sliced green onions, drained black beans and pickled jalapenos.

Bake, Jazz-up And Enjoy

Toss that sheet pan into the oven for 9-10 minutes, until the cheese is nicely melted and the chip edges brown slightly. Now is the time to add a zip of freshness and truly elevate the snack to a meal. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb brussels sprouts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup powdered parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions:

  1. To make the brussels sprout chips you need to prepare the brussels sprouts. First, remove the ends, and you can also take out the outer leaves.
  2. Grab a knife and start cutting the brussels sprouts into thin pieces.
  3. Get a plate and cover the pieces with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil, and powdered parmesan cheese.
  4. You can now place the brussels sprouts on a baking sheet. Make sure that the chips are in a single layer so that they bake properly.
  5. Turn the oven on and set it to 425 F degrees. Bake the brussels sprout chips for 10 minutes.
  6. Take out the baking sheet and flip the chips. Bake them for 10 more minutes.
  7. Serve them right away with a side of your choice.

It can be really hard to find easy recipes for healthy snacks. Enjoying chocolate, cookies, chips, puffs all the time is definitely not a good idea. These beet chips are healthy, simple and only require three ingredients.

Ingredients:

These beet chips are literally the easiest snack you’ll ever make. You can use any type of beet that you prefer. For the recipe, you need to get 12 beets, 2 teaspoons celery salt and 1/2 cup olive oil. That’s it, only three simple ingredients.

Instructions:

The first step is to set the oven to preheat on 300 F degrees. You will need baking sheets, covered with parchment paper to place the beet chips on. Wash and peel the beets. A great idea is to mix several different types. Use a slicer to get very thin slices that look like actual chips. Once that’s done, you can get a large bowl and fill it with the slices. Add the olive oil and salt in the bowl and mix the chips very well. If you are using different beats, place them in separate plates. Let the slices in the bowls for 15 to 20 minutes. 

Remove all the liquid from them and you can now set them on the parchment paper. The recommended baking time is between 45 minutes and an hour. Check them out after 45 minutes and if you prefer them ultra-crisp, let the chips inside for extra 15 minutes.

It All Starts With A Big Bag Of Crispy Chips

White corn restaurant-style chips are light and crispy, not like the overly-crunchy and more rustic dense yellow-corn tortilla chips. The lighter-style chip works best as a nacho base because the chips will get toasted in the oven. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, line a baking sheet with foil, and lay down a base of chips.

Add Copious Amounts Of Cheese, Chicken and Whatever Else You’d Like

Sprinkle a cup of shredded mild cheddar or taco-style cheese over the chips. Pre-cooked chicken makes a delicious and convenient nacho protein choice.
