]]>Buying ready-made ramen noodles in the supermarket is a guilty pleasure that so many people have, and for good reason. When you eat it in the moment, it’s incredibly tasty and has a certain addicting quality to it. However, there are processed elements in these packaged products that aren’t too good for you.
If you’re trying to enjoy ramen but without all of the added unhealthy seasonings, why not just make it yourself? Buy a bag of plain ramen noodles with nothing else, and then just prepare your own broth. You can add your own healthy seasonings, as well as other healthy things such as chicken, meat, or hard-boiled eggs (which is common for ramen). When you’re done, you’ll have a delicious ramen noodle dish that’s also healthy!

]]>The best way to upgrade your instant noodles is to add some fresh veggies and/or herbs to them. Just take some carrot slices, garlic, broccoli, or spinach, and add them to instant ramen towards the end of the cooking process. Dried herbs like dill and basil will also work great.
By adding an egg to the instant ramen, you can make the meal more flavorful and pump it with protein. One option is to whisk an egg and simply pour it into the pot. This will lead to a creamier texture of the dish. Other is to crack an egg directly into the pot and get a poached egg in your ramen.
The cheapest, simplest, and quickest way to upgrade your instant noodles is to sauce them up. Sriracha, soy sauce, Tabasco, and pretty much any other popular sauce will instantly (pun intended) make instant ramen much better.
If you really want to take your ramen over the top, then include some meat in the equation. Fry up some bacon bits and sprinkle them over the cooked ramen. Slice up chicken really thin and add it into the pot while the ramen is cooking. Or even better, use beef or pork leftovers if you have some and top the ramen with it after it’s finished cooking.

]]>CEO of event company Holiday Jack, Tom Yano, came up with the idea while on a vacation in Brazil. He was fishing, cooking, and eating piranha every day there thanks to the locals who shared their recipes with him. His favorite wasa soup called caldo de piranha, a specialty of the Pantanal region of Brazil. He thought the taste of the soup would match ramen perfectly.
When he came back to Japan, he posted an article to his company’s website where he announced a piranha ramen event – but it was just an April Fool’s joke. What he didn’t expect was that he would receive over 500 calls from people interested to try this new delicacy, so he decided to follow through with the idea after all. Would you try piranha ramen?

]]>But why stop at a bowl and chopsticks? This ramen noodle grilled cheese recipe combines two of your childhood (and adult) favorites into one cheesy, downright delicious meal. It’s simple, requires just a few ingredients, and you will quickly devour every single bite!
There’s something so comforting about a big bowl of ramen, and the grilled cheese is not far behind when it comes to culinary classics. Using noodles as bread? Say no more. Let’s get started.
Ingredients
1 package of ramen (no need for the seasoning)
1 egg
2 slices of bacon
3 cheese slices
Sriracha
Butter
Rectangular container with a flat bottom
Cook the ramen in a pot of boiling water for three minutes or until the noodles are tender. Strain the noodles. Beat one egg well and add it to the bowl of noodles. Make sure to mix the two together well. Next, be sure to have the rectangular container ready to go!
Grease the rectangular container and pour the noodles inside. Use a fork to pack the noodles down so they are about 1 1/2 inches thick. Place in the fridge for fifteen minutes and get ready to take care of your sandwich contents!
Cook the two slices of bacon and have the two pieces of cheese ready on the side. Take the container of ramen out of the fridge and get ready to add it to the mix!
Add some butter to a frying pan and empty the ramen into the pan. Let the noodles cook until they are golden brown on one side, and once the ramen reaches a light brown color, cut it in half.
Flip the two ramen halves over and let the opposite sides cook. Drizzle some spicy sriracha over the noodles—the spicier the better! Add the slices of cheese and bacon on top. Let cook for seven to eight minutes, keeping the pan covered. This gives the cheese time to soak into the noodles! Can you say delicious?
Once the cheese has melted and you are happy with the crispiness of the noodles, flip the two sides of ramen together to make a sandwich. Let each side of the grilled cheese brown longer if desired.
Don’t be afraid to add other ingredients—such as tomatoes, salt, and pepper—to make this ramen grilled cheese your own work of art. This is sure to be a household hit, especially among die-hard ramen fans. Enjoy!
