Ramen noodles have come a long way from their salty, one-way-fits all demeanor. Restaurants have turned this collegiate guilty pleasure into a complete delicacy, and longtime fans couldn’t be happier to indulge in one of their favorite foods. From the wide range of different flavors, consistencies, and add-in proteins, these aren’t your old-school noodles, folks. Ramen is all grown up.

But why stop at a bowl and chopsticks? This ramen noodle grilled cheese recipe combines two of your childhood (and adult) favorites into one cheesy, downright delicious meal. It’s simple, requires just a few ingredients, and you will quickly devour every single bite!

There’s something so comforting about a big bowl of ramen, and the grilled cheese is not far behind when it comes to culinary classics. Using noodles as bread? Say no more. Let’s get started.

Ingredients

1 package of ramen (no need for the seasoning)
1 egg
2 slices of bacon
3 cheese slices
Sriracha
Butter
Rectangular container with a flat bottom

Boil The Noodles To Perfection

Cook the ramen in a pot of boiling water for three minutes or until the noodles are tender. Strain the noodles. Beat one egg well and add it to the bowl of noodles. Make sure to mix the two together well. Next, be sure to have the rectangular container ready to go!

Pack The Ramen Into The Container

Grease the rectangular container and pour the noodles inside. Use a fork to pack the noodles down so they are about 1 1/2 inches thick. Place in the fridge for fifteen minutes and get ready to take care of your sandwich contents!

Time To Sizzle Some Bacon

Cook the two slices of bacon and have the two pieces of cheese ready on the side. Take the container of ramen out of the fridge and get ready to add it to the mix!

Fry The Ramen To Make Your Sandwich Ends

Add some butter to a frying pan and empty the ramen into the pan. Let the noodles cook until they are golden brown on one side, and once the ramen reaches a light brown color, cut it in half.

Flip the two ramen halves over and let the opposite sides cook. Drizzle some spicy sriracha over the noodles—the spicier the better! Add the slices of cheese and bacon on top. Let cook for seven to eight minutes, keeping the pan covered. This gives the cheese time to soak into the noodles! Can you say delicious?

Put On The Finishing Touches!

Once the cheese has melted and you are happy with the crispiness of the noodles, flip the two sides of ramen together to make a sandwich. Let each side of the grilled cheese brown longer if desired.

Don’t be afraid to add other ingredients—such as tomatoes, salt, and pepper—to make this ramen grilled cheese your own work of art. This is sure to be a household hit, especially among die-hard ramen fans. Enjoy!
