]]>Want to learn how to make a tinto de verano at home? It’s super easy! Here’s how to make it.
Start off by taking either a pitcher or a glass, depending on how large of a drink that you would like to make.
After you have done this, add equal parts of soda water, a neutral-tasting drink that contains carbonated water and sugar, and young red wine. You want a wine that hasn’t been aged and that has light to medium flavor and body, such as Spain’s famous tempranillo.
After mixing the two beverages together, take a couple of ice cubes and put it inside of your glass.
Garnish the drink with a slice of lemon, squeezing it into the drink if you would like to add a bit of citrus flavor.
That’s it! Your tinto de verano is ready to be drunk. We hope you enjoy!

]]>A study done in 2006 showed that drinking red wine and eating dark chocolate can prevent heart disease. Experiments done on mice showed that those who consumed grape skins, chocolate, and berries lived twice as long compared to those who didn’t eat the same.
But lately, scientists are not so sure about the health benefits of red wine. An article published on BBC in 2014 reflects on the study done by Professor Richard Semba of the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine who, along with his colleagues, found no evidence that supports the alleged benefits of red wine.
“The thinking was that certain foods are good for you because they contain resveratrol. We didn’t find that at all,” the outlet quoted Semba. “The story of resveratrol turns out to be another case where you get a lot of hype about health benefits that doesn’t stand the test of time.”
While red wine may not directly be responsible for improving your health, you don’t need to be afraid of it, either. Moderate consumption of anything you really love can only have positive effects on your physical and mental health.

]]>First of all, what’s a “room temperature”? This is a vague term because this temperature can be very different depending on many factors. As wine expert Ian Ferrier told Lifehacker, “each wine has its own specific ideal temperature range but generally, you want to lean on the cooler end of things than the warmer.” According to him, it’s ideal to serve red wine that’s chilled to 60-70 degrees. If it’s warmer than that, you’ll taste the alcohol in it rather than all the wonderful aromas. The higher the alcohol content in your wine, the more you want to chill it.
However, if you cool your red wine to typical white wine serving temperature, you may end up with a bitter beverage. Each wine is different, and if you have a favorite, figure out at which temperature you enjoy it the most and then chill it properly before serving.

The large majority of the wines that she tries and the wineries that she visits are from Italy. The best wines in the world are from here, so why not?
@wineteller also travels to other countries from time to time to see sights and try wine, however. Take a look at this spectacular shot of a Spanish cava in front of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
