Ice cream might be disregarded as a kids dessert, but this kind is for the grown-ups to enjoy!
What better way to enjoy a glass (or a couple) of wine than in a form which will also keep you cool in the summer heat?
And while it may be considered improper to drink wine before 5 o’clock, it’s always time for ice cream.
Ingredients
• 1 bottle of your favorite wine (merlot works well)
• 2 tbsp vanilla yogurt/heavy whipped cream
• 3 tsp sugar
Method
- Boil your wine and sugar in a pot until it comes to a syrupy consistency.
- Remove from the heat and let it cool before placing it in ice cube trays to freeze.
- Once frozen, place ice cubes in a food processor and blitz lightly until slightly crushed.
- Add in your yogurt or cream and continue to whiz until mixture has the consistency of ice cream.
- Scoop into bowls and serve immediately or place back into the freezer to set slightly if desired.
