Start by sauteing chicken breasts or thighs in olive oil until browned. Then, deglaze the pan with a cup of Sauvignon Blanc, scraping up any browned bits. Add fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, and some fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, and parsley. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through, and the sauce is reduced and flavorful. Enjoy!
Sauvignon Blanc also works well in shrimp scampi, where its citrus notes complement the shrimp and garlic.
Sauté jumbo shrimp in a pan with butter, olive oil, and minced garlic until they turn pink and are slightly caramelized. Then, pour in a cup of Sauvignon Blanc. Let it simmer until it’s reduced by half. Add lemon juice, lemon zest, and a handful of chopped fresh parsley. Toss the shrimp in the sauce and serve over linguine. Yum!

“There were obviously conventions and rules about Sauvignon Blanc and how it should behave, and who it should be,” the Sex and the City actress explained. “I think what I love about ours is it’s identifiable and it does apply a lot of those rules, but it went a bit rogue. It’s a little bigger than most Sauvignon Blancs, it’s not maybe quite as high, or pointy. I think it’s beautifully balanced, but it’s a little fuller-figured lady. It’s super fragrant and it seems to be very nimble.”
The wine had its launch party on September 18th at the Garden Bar in New York’s Seaport District.
So now that Sarah is a winemaker, what are her tips for enjoying the drink?
“I think I’ve learned to love wine and enjoy it because of traveling, and always trying to drink local wine,” she says. “And I always ask the server, ‘What’s your local wine? You can bring a label-less carafe of what you all drink and love here.’ The more I’ve done that, the more I’ve learned.”
And the evidence is in her own grapes.

]]>One of the advantages of drinking wine with a meal is that the different grapes and varieties of wine can be the perfect complement to a meal.
Here are four perfect pairings that will help you start pairing food and wine.
This is one of the most classic pairings known to man. Cabernet’s bold tannins are a perfect complement to the strong, meaty flavors of a good grilled steak. You’ll love how they balance each other out.
An Italian red has to go well with pasta in tomato sauce, right? It’s not surprising that a Sangiovese goes perfectly with an Italian pasta dish. The acidity in the tomato sauce plays off of the Sangiovese’s fruitness.
A light wine like Sauvignon blanc goes very well with white fish. The citrusy, light flavors of a Sauvignon Blanc doesn’t overwhelm the delicate flavors of white fish like tilapia.
This might be the least well-known of the four pairings, but it works great. Rieslings tend to be a little sweeter than most whites, but you’ll love how the interplay between the saltiness of pork chops plays off of this sweetness.
Wines are a great way to complement any meal, and hopefully this gives you some ideas to work with!
