There are few things we love more than desserts inspired by other desserts. In this recipe, fresh, juicy peaches are warmed up with a little cinnamon for a cookie that’s sure to satisfy all summer long.
This pastry can be made with whatever stone fruit you have available and is sure to impress even the pickiest eaters. It’s lovely topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but is equally satisfying when served on its own.

]]>This is one of our favorite popsicle recipes. Cut up strawberries into quarters and mix with honey or another sweetener. Wait some time to let the honey soak in, then blend the strawberries with cubed watermelon and lime juice until it reaches a smooth texture. Put in your popsicle mold and freeze for a few hours.
If you want something a little creamier, try this one. Heat up blueberries and honey over medium heat, simmering and mashing them together. Cool and combine with yogurt, mixing minimally to maintain a swirly pattern before pouring into popsicle molds and freezing.
Blend banana, almond milk, maple syrup, and almond butter in a blender and freeze in popsicle molds until solid. Dip into melted dark chocolate, coating with chopped almonds.

]]>While it’s possible to get some liquids from other sources, such as soft drinks and fruit juices, water is truly the best and healthiest option for staying hydrated. Here are four advantages to keeping your water intake up during summer.
This one might seem obvious, but the amount of sweat that we produce in summer makes it all the more important to be diligent about drinking water. You need to keep your body’s moisture levels at an optimum level, especially in summer.
Losing water via sweat and evaporation can slow down your brain if you aren’t drinking enough water. It’s important to do so in order to be at peak mental capacity.
Water serves to regulate body temperature. Drinking a cold glass of water in the summertime isn’t only refreshing, but it also reduces your risk of heatstroke.
Water is essential for maintaining normal kidney function, so if you want to reduce your risk for kidney stones and other renal ailments in summer, be sure to keep drinking water!

]]>That doesn’t mean that there aren’t great pastries for the hottest months of the year, however! Here are some pastries that are perfect to munch on even when the temperatures are up!
Strawberry shortcake is a summer favorite that combines seasonal fruit with a light and airy cake. Topped with rich, sugary, and fresh strawberries, it’s such a refreshing pastry that you’ll forget that you’re filling your stomach!
Doughnuts come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. While winter might be the perfect time to enjoy a maple bacon doughnut, the great thing about this pastry is that there are options like lemon-berry doughnuts that are perfect for the warmer months. The light citrus taste of these doughnuts is ideal on a hot day.
Pineapple cake is a dessert that has its origins in the southeast Asian island of Taiwan. Combining the juicy, sweet, and tropical flavor of pineapple with a light cake is a perfect idea to enjoy a sweet treat during summer.

]]>Shrimp are a great gateway seafood to cook, because they’re really easy to prepare and they cook up really quickly. However, there are so many ways to utilize shrimp, so make sure you’re getting the best quality and closest shrimp to where you live and make these stellar recipes!
When you buy fresh seafood, they come with the skin on and sometimes even the head! Getting rid of all that goodness would be such a shame, so after you clean and peel your shrimp, make sure to save everything and make it into a stock! Just throw the skins and heads into a pot with water, a bay leaf, black peppercorns, onion and garlic, and you’ll have an amazing base for super flavorful soups!
Anytime you can use your grill this summer, you should. Start by marinating the shrimp in the juice of half a lemon, ½ cup of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, black pepper to taste, and 1 teaspoon of paprika to give it a kick. Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour, and then pop them onto the grill and cook until they turn pink!

]]>With that being said, there’s a lot of possibilities for consuming watermelon. Here are three ways to use watermelon to make creative treats this summer!
Did you know that watermelon is over 90%, well, water? This means that you can freeze watermelon and create something that will be very similar to a popsicle! Try adding a little bit of lemon juice and sugar to watermelon cubes, and then put a wooden stick inside. Boom, natural watermelon popsicles!
There are tons of drink possibilities that involve watermelon, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Some of my favorite drinks that use watermelon include watermelon lemonade, vodka watermelon cocktails, and watermelon margaritas.
That’s right, you can grill slices of watermelon, and it’s absolutely delicious! My recommendation is to toss a little bit of chili powder on the slices, coat them with olive oil, and then pop them on the grill. It’s a surprisingly delicious side dish.

Enjoy the benefits of herbal teas in their most delicious form — iced tea. You can add fruit, fresh herbs, lemon, and raw honey to improve the flavor and have a new drink every day.
A glass of fresh juice can be a great breakfast on the go and can also refresh you in the afternoon. You’ll find the most nutrients in greens like kale and you can always add other fruits and vegetables for flavor and sweetness.
