]]>TikTok user @citygirlthe3rd recently shared a video in which she demonstrated an intriguing hack that they claim helps prevent the fish odor from taking over your kitchen. And it is quite simple, actually.
While frying fish on the stove, the TikToker boils cinnamon with some vanilla at the same time. According to her, it is the second time they’ve used the hack, and it worked out great.
“I also open the window, shut the room doors & light an inscent while I’m cooking and after,” she added in the caption of the video.
Now, there are some drawbacks to the hack. You might get a really strange smell combination at the start when the smell of cooked fish and the scent of cinnamon combine. Also, it will require you to be extra attentive while cooking in order for your fish not to burn.
However, we will try anything to prevent our house from smelling like fish, including this hack. You might want to do the same.

]]>This hack, which has been around for a while now, was demonstrated by TikTok user Ereka Vetrini in a video that got more than three million views.
In the clip, Vetrini covers the bottom of a pan with oil and places a piece of parchment paper in it. She then puts a piece of salmon skin-side-down on top of the parchment paper and gets a perfectly crispy skin in a matter of minutes. Best of all, the fish didn’t stick at all.
Most TikTok users praised the hack, although some pointed out that there are other ways you can get the
perfectly crispy fish skin that doesn’t stick.
“I’m confused here. Preheating the pan properly and adding oil, you will never have skin stick,” one user wrote.
“Heat your pan well till waterdrops dance around, add oil until it wants to smoke, and add the fish. Never need parchment again,” another one added.

This one sounds pretty basic but it can actually come in handy! It’s really hard to remember sometimes where to store the fruits and vegetables we bought in the supermarket. What goes inside the fridge and what can be left outside at room temperature? Hello Kirsten offers a simple solution: just remember where you got it from inside the supermarket, and store it accordingly. Who knew it was that simple?

This one’s a true lifesaver. Tearing up while cutting onion can get pretty ugly, so next time this happens to you, just hold some water in your mouth while cutting. This should actually prevent your eyes from watering.

]]>It appears that every time we want to get soft and melty cookies, we end up with crispy and thin ones. There are also times when we aim for crunchy chocolate chip cookies and get the thick version of this iconic treat.
Well, that shouldn’t be an issue anymore, thanks to Benjamin the baker. This TikTok user, who has eight years of experience working in bakeries, recently shared a simple yet effective hack that will help you get the perfect chocolate chip cookies every time.

According to Benjamin the baker, the secret is in adjusting the temperature of your oven. While most recipes ask for 350F, this temperature will only get you one kind of cookie. If you want to have extra-crisp cookies, bake them at 300F. If you want to have soft and gooey chocolate chip cookies, bake them at 425F.
“Low temp for thinner and crispier, high temp for thicker and gooier,” says Benjamin the baker in the video, while demonstrating the results.
The clip quickly became a huge hit on social media and already racked up five million views in just a couple of days. Check it out!
