]]>Inspired by the love of all things tiny, General Mills says the cereals will come in smaller shapes but will in no way compromise on their big flavor.
“Sometimes the best new innovation is the smallest one,” said Mindy Murray, who serves as the Senior. Marketing Communications Manager at General Mills. “There’s such a love right now for full-size things that have been shrunk into mini versions, and we realized we could do the same with our cereals. We can’t wait for families to try the cutest new way to experience their favorites one BIG (little) bite at a time.”
Expect the Trix Minis to be little balls of fruitiness, and the mini Reese’s Puffs to be in the shape of tiny balls, too. Even Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which is typically square, will be round when in mini mode.
Although they may be small, the cereals will be available in full-size boxes from January.

]]>Kellogg’s knows that milk is an essential element in enjoying cereal, but they also know it isn’t the easiest ingredient to schlep around.
Sometimes you’re nowhere near your kitchen when the cereal craving strikes—what do you do? Well, Kellogg’s has your back.
The cereal manufacturer, which has been around since 1906, has spent two years developing a cereal product which requires only water. The Instabowls include powdered milk, meaning some cold water and a stir is enough to create the milk to coat your cereal.
“In recent years, there has been a huge trend toward portability for food, especially as busy schedules and life’s everyday curve balls prevent traditional sit-down meals,” stated Chris Stolsky, the marketing director at the Kellogg Company. “We created Kellogg’s Instabowls as an easy solution for the ‘anytime cereal break’ so you can now bring your favorite Kellogg’s cereals with you wherever life takes you and not have to worry about milk, dishes, or clean-up.”
At this stage, Instabowls come in 4 varieties: Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Raisin Bran Crunch.

]]>Even if you’re a huge fan of all things sweet, cereals with extremely high sugar content are best avoided. Never buy cereals with over 5 grams of sugar per serving, because they often contain refined sugars and artificial flavorings. It’s better to stick to adding sweetness to your cereal with natural toppings.
You should always aim for a fiber-rich breakfast, and if cereal happens to be your go-to food, make sure it contains at least 4 grams of fiber per serving. You can also try to increase its fiber content by adding fruit to the mix and using them to top your cereal.
If you don’t have time to thoroughly examine the labels and want to know if cereal is healthy or not from the get-go, look for whole-grain verities. They’re usually the healthiest possible option on the market because they haven’t lost their healthy nutrients during production.

]]>Sugary cereals usually have low fiber content, and that’s what makes them one of the worst breakfast options on the market. You can avoid them by checking the labels, and making sure that your cereal doesn’t contain any artificial flavorings and has at least three grams of fiber per serving.
If you’re looking for a cereal that happens to be a great source of fiber, whole grain varieties are your best bet. Highly processed cereals rarely have high fiber content, so you should replace them with whole-grain ones whenever possible.
If you insist on adding toppings to your cereal, always go with the healthiest possible options. Fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds are your best bet since they happen to be fiber-rich. It’s still important to use them in moderation because some of them can contain a lot of sugar and calories.
