]]>Amateur chefs often have trouble with this seemingly simple task. Here are some tips that will help you master the art of boiling pasta.
One mistake that is far too easy to make is boiling for pasta for too much time. It’s far too common for people to leave their pasta boiling in water, get distracted by something else, and forget about it while it turns mushy and inedible. Depending on the pasta, 3-6 minutes is best.
Anyone who’s ever grown up with an Italian grandmother will know that you absolutely must add salt to your pasta water before boiling! This allows the noodles to soak up a bit of saltiness and also keeps them from sticking together.
It’s very important to gently stir your pasta while it’s boiling to be sure that all of the noodles are cooked evenly and thoroughly. In addition, this also helps to keep the noodles from sticking together.

]]>One of the star dishes of Central Asia that you should definitely get to know is called Laghman. So, what is it, and why should you get familiar with this tasty noodle dish?
Laghman might look like a stir-fry noodle dish at first glance, but the reality is actually quite different. This noodle favorite’s main ingredient is pulled noodles, a special type of wheat noodle that takes a whole lot of care and effort to produce. Kitchen masters spend hours delicately stretching the dough into thin strands to make this delicious hand-made delights.
After boiling the noodles, a broth is made with water, meat (usually beef), potatoes, and vegetables such as red peppers, carrots, onions, and whatever else is handy along with herbs such as bay leaves. The aromatic “soup” is then poured on top of the noodles and served.
This hearty dish can be found in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and even parts of Russia, originating with the Uyghur and Dungan ethnic groups.
Laghman is the perfect remedy to warm away the blues of a cold winter day. Whether you find it on a restaurant menu or decide to find a recipe online and make it yourself, be sure to give it a taste!

Angel hair pasta is the stuff of miracles. Why? Because it tastes amazing and a five-year-old can make it. We promised you pasta recipes with five ingredients, but this one uses just three.
So pick your favorite pasta sauce (either homemade or store bought), simmer it with some light cream cheese, boil your pasta and kablam!
You now have a mouth-watering meal fit for angels. As always, don’t forget the red wine.
Whoever thought to combine bacon and pasta is a sheer and utter genius. With those two ingredients alone you could live a happy life, but to spice things up, add three more.
It all starts off by whisking eggs and parmesan cheese in a small bowl. Then, cook some bacon in a skillet until brown and crispy (and don’t throw out that delicious fat!).
Add the garlic to your bacon, followed by your pasta and egg mixture. Toss it all up, garnish with some salt and pepper and serve to a lucky diner of your choice.
“Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify.” Henry David Thoreau couldn’t have said it any better and he would surely love this pasta with butter tomato sauce.
The simple secret to this dish is butter and garlic. By adding this mixture to your tomato sauce, you add a gentle creaminess that can’t be ignored.
If you want to get real fancy with it, throw some toasted breadcrumbs on top for a little crunch.
Whoa! Can you put pasta in a salad? You bet your bottom dollar you can. On top of it all, this recipe is nearly foolproof.
Essentially, just make a salad with some arugula, roasted red peppers, pesto and fresh mozzarella. Then add in your pasta (cooked of course,) mix it all up and you have a great dish to bring to a family picnic or, you know, just keep for yourself.
Spinach has a bad reputation, but “they” say it’s a super food so you should eat it whenever possible. One way to sneak all those nutrients inside your body is with the old “Trojan horse technique.”
By hiding spinach in a big bowl of parmesan pasta, you won’t even know that slimy, green vegetable is in there.
All you need is some butter and garlic to make the sauce. Then, just mix that in with your pasta and spinach while garnishing it all with fresh Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
It’s easy, healthy (somewhat) and magically delicious.

]]>But why stop at a bowl and chopsticks? This ramen noodle grilled cheese recipe combines two of your childhood (and adult) favorites into one cheesy, downright delicious meal. It’s simple, requires just a few ingredients, and you will quickly devour every single bite!
There’s something so comforting about a big bowl of ramen, and the grilled cheese is not far behind when it comes to culinary classics. Using noodles as bread? Say no more. Let’s get started.
Ingredients
1 package of ramen (no need for the seasoning)
1 egg
2 slices of bacon
3 cheese slices
Sriracha
Butter
Rectangular container with a flat bottom
Cook the ramen in a pot of boiling water for three minutes or until the noodles are tender. Strain the noodles. Beat one egg well and add it to the bowl of noodles. Make sure to mix the two together well. Next, be sure to have the rectangular container ready to go!
Grease the rectangular container and pour the noodles inside. Use a fork to pack the noodles down so they are about 1 1/2 inches thick. Place in the fridge for fifteen minutes and get ready to take care of your sandwich contents!
Cook the two slices of bacon and have the two pieces of cheese ready on the side. Take the container of ramen out of the fridge and get ready to add it to the mix!
Add some butter to a frying pan and empty the ramen into the pan. Let the noodles cook until they are golden brown on one side, and once the ramen reaches a light brown color, cut it in half.
Flip the two ramen halves over and let the opposite sides cook. Drizzle some spicy sriracha over the noodles—the spicier the better! Add the slices of cheese and bacon on top. Let cook for seven to eight minutes, keeping the pan covered. This gives the cheese time to soak into the noodles! Can you say delicious?
Once the cheese has melted and you are happy with the crispiness of the noodles, flip the two sides of ramen together to make a sandwich. Let each side of the grilled cheese brown longer if desired.
Don’t be afraid to add other ingredients—such as tomatoes, salt, and pepper—to make this ramen grilled cheese your own work of art. This is sure to be a household hit, especially among die-hard ramen fans. Enjoy!
