This Beef Noodle Casserole is Perfect for Dinner Time

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 chopped yellow onion
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 10.5 ounces mushroom soup
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Pour water and salt into a large pot and boil it over the stove. Once boiling, add noodles to the pot and cook them until they are about 1 minute under al dente. Drain the noodles, leaving about one cup of pasta water.
  2. Warm up a large skillet of olive oil over medium heat. Pour the ground beef into the skillet and cook, breaking the meat apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes until the beef is browned. Season with salt according to taste
  3. Add garlic and onions to the skillet, cooking for a further 4 to 5 minutes. Continue doing so until the onions are translucent.
  4. Pour the pasta water into the skillet along with cream, cheese, soup, and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for another minute.
  5. Combine the noodles and the beef mixture in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes, until bubbly.
