The post America’s Favorite Candy Results are in! appeared first on falafelandcaviar.com.
]]>Is it any surprise that searches for candy (and sales) go up in October? Overall, the average person in the US eats 8 pounds of candy per year. No wonder the US candy production market is worth $12.1 billion!
The most popular candy across the country is KitKats, with 6 states choosing it as their sweet of choice. The chocolate wafers trumped Starbursts which took the prize last year. Twix also proved popular, as did Reese’s, Dum Dums, Jolly Ranchers, Skittles, and Sour Patch Kids. Weirdly enough, some states actually picked Candy Corn and black licorice.
50 states were surveyed and the results were close… but chocolate won the battle. 28 states named chocolate candies as their favorite, while the other 22 prefer gummies, fruit-flavored candies, and other non-chocolate candies.

]]>Let’s take a look at the three most popular candies in the United States, according to the poll.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups was the runaway winner in the poll of Americans’ favorite candy. The classic combination of candy and peanut butter is clearly a duo that the country’s citizens absolutely adore.
Snickers came in second with 18% of the vote, a strong showing for the candy bar that combines chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and nougat. Who doesn’t love a delicious Snickers bar, anyway?
M&M’s, which are now available in a never-ending variety of flavors including peanut butter, hazelnut spread, and even mint, clock in at third on the list. An American favorite since 1941, when it was introduced to the market, these small candies continue to enjoy great popularity.

]]>If you find yourself in South Korea or browsing the aisles of a specialty grocery store, keep your eye out for these sweet treats that you are absolutely going to love.
Have you ever had a Moon Pie before? This Korean treat is quite similar to the well-known Southern pastry, consisting of two layers of vanilla-flavored cake with a marshmallow filling between them, and then covered in chocolate. Delicious!
Korean treats are also adept at taking unique ingredients and turning them into sweet favorites. Pumpkin monaca, consisting of a crispy rice exterior and a thick, paste-like filling made with pumpkin, is a fall favorite in Korea.
Plums are one of Korea’s favorite fruits, and their sweet flavor is on display in these delicious plum candies. Sweet and slightly tart, these candies contain real plums as well as green tea extract.

]]>Well, Kit Kat is already on the move in 2020, introducing two new flavors that are already becoming big hits. Let’s check them out!
One of the new flavors that Kit Kat has released this year is a Raspberry Creme flavor, which is the company’s big new bet for Valentine’s Day. The pink color and the delicious combination of raspberry, light wafers, and chocolate are sure to be a hit this February when it’s time to gift sweet treats.
Lemon crisp Kit Kats?! That’s right, this strange and one-of-a-kind new flavor has been spotted at Food Lion grocery stores in the United States this year. Lemon-flavored white creme candy replaces chocolate in this variation, which sounds like it might be a perfect light summer treat.

]]>Junk food tastes amazing because it’s engineered to taste amazing. It’s usually cheap and easily available, but there’s a big problem with it: as its name says, its junk. It doesn’t contain any nutrients your body needs, but mostly consists of calorie-dense sugar and fat that your body just stores while virtually staying hungry for real food. Typical junk foods are candy, salty snacks, baked goods, and soft drinks.

]]>The account shared a photo of the new Kit Kat wrapper and another photo of a candy bar broken in half on November 14th, writing that “the Kit Kats themselves are a bit harder, as milk chocolate and confection are different, but moving past that, you’re delighted to impeccable crunch, and flashbacks to eating spoonfuls of funfetti cake frosting right out of the jar.”
In the past, Kit Kat has released many exciting flavors like Mint, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Cinnamon, etc. Given their history, we have no doubt that Birthday Cake Kit Kats will be just as amazing as their other flavors. What’s your favorite Kit Kat flavor so far? Do you prefer a classic one or something new they released along the way?

]]>Here are some of the most popular Halloween candies in the United States.
Candy corn is, without a doubt, the most popular and recognizable Halloween candy in the United States. This sweet, which many love and many hate, is sickeningly sweet and can be found in trick or treat bags all over.
Wax lips might not be as common as they once were, but these big, red, exaggerated candies have been a Halloween favorite for many years. These candies, made of food wax, have been used for laughs for a long and are still given out by some of the more traditional families.
These little chocolate and caramel candies are well known as a “bite-sized” snack throughout the United States. You will undoubtedly find a handful of these recognizable yellow boxes in any kid’s bag on Halloween!

Expect to see them nationwide in December, or maybe even earlier,” the twins wrote.
They said that dark chocolate pairs wonderfully with cooling mint. “Every year we grow fonder and fonder of mint chocolate as we feel the desire to try new releases of the brands we love.”

]]>While we might typically associate Haribo with gummy bears, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some truly weird flavors floating around out there. Here are some of the strangest Haribo flavors available worldwide.
Sour candy isn’t often made to look like neon-colored spaghetti, but Haribo has done it. With strawberry, blue raspberry, and apple flavors in the package, we wouldn’t recommend putting tomato sauce on these.
Candy isn’t supposed to give you nightmares, but Haribo Teeth, which are available in the Spanish and Turkish markets, might come close to doing so. These gummy teeth might taste good, but they’re downright freaky.
Available in both gummy and sour versions, Haribo gives people around the world to bite off Papa Smurf’s head with these strange candies.
These weird treats are similar to the first entry on the list, but with the shape and thickness of classic french fries. We’re not sure why they had to choose this name, but we guess creativity is the name of the game for this eclectic company.

“Many stores won’t have them stocked until the Halloween aisles begin being set up after Back to School season is over. If you’re lucky, you may find a Target employee kind enough to check the back room for you,” Instagram user mnmtwinz shares a tip.
