]]>You might only have a drip coffee maker at home, but have you ever thought about investing in a home espresso machine?
While the behemoth machines used at coffee shops are often quite large, occupying a space that wouldnโt be feasible in a kitchen, home espresso machines have only one spout for making coffee, which is more than enough.
These machines are quite easy to use, with a water reservoir being filled before adding to a special capsule that is used to make an especially strong variety of coffee after being heated by the machine.
Home espresso machines arenโt quite as expensive as you probably think they are, either, with models being available for between $50 and $100.
So, if you consider yourself a latte lover and are tired of spending big bucks to buy these drinks at your local coffee shop, consider buying an espresso machine for your own kitchen.

]]>Here are some options to consider if you are looking for non-dairy alternatives.
Oat milk is a creamy non-dairy milk option that has a bit of natural sweetness and works great if you donโt mind a little bit of sweetness in your coffee. You might even find that adding additional sugar isnโt necessary when using oat milk.
The nutty flavor of almond milk contrasts with the product, which has a look and taste that is actually quite similar to cowโs milk. If you donโt mind a bit of almond flavor in your coffee, this is a good choice for you.
Soy milk is a product that is always flavored before being put on the market. The most popular option for coffee drinkers that use soy milk is the vanilla variety, meaning that your coffee drink will have some vanilla tones if you use this product.

]]>The story of this drink dates back to the mid-1980s in Sydney, Australia. Few could have ever imagined that flat whites would become a worldwide hit when Alan Preston added the new coffee creation to his menu at Moors Espresso Bar.
His idea was to put a twist on a traditional cappuccino by offering a drink with less foam, but more milk and a smoother consistency.
The reasons for the surge in popularity of flat whites are mostly centered on how they offer coffee drinkers a different experience than a traditional cappuccino or a latte. Lattes have a very high ratio of milk to coffee and cappuccinos present their milk in the form of a very thick layer of foam.
Flat whites strike a different balance, offering only a very thin layer of microfoam that resists and is able to be enjoyed throughout the drink. Also, its ratio of coffee to milk is much higher, allowing the characteristics of the coffee used in the beverage to take center stage.
If you havenโt done it yet, why not try a flat white the next time you head to your local coffee shop?

Thereโs nothing more classic when it comes to coffee cocktails than a splash of Baileyโs Irish Cream. Giving the coffee a creamy consistency and a bit of alcohol, this is perfect for cold winter nights.
Coffee drinkers in Spain love this combination, adding a few drops of โaguardiente,โ a liquor made from the skins of grapes used to make wine, to a shot of espresso with no milk added. Itโs strong, but really tasty.
Looking to add a liquor that will only minimally alter the taste and flavor of your coffee? Kahlua is a great choice. Made with coffee, rum, sugar, and vanilla, itโs impossible not to love a bit of kahlua in a cup of joe.

]]>Vietnamese coffee is a beloved drink that comes from Southeast Asia and is widely regarded as one of the most delicious and interesting ways to enjoy coffee on the planet.
So, what is Vietnamese coffee, and what makes it special?
French priests introduced the coffee plant to the country in the mid-19th century, and Vietnam quickly became a giant of the production of the robusta form of coffee, which is stronger and more bitter than the more widely-consumed arabica variety.
In order to combat the bitter and strong taste of the countryโs coffee, a fantastic creation was made.
The coffee, which is always brewed through a small, manual drip filter, is combined with sweetened and condensed milk in order to make a sweet and strong beverage. Sweetened condensed milk is the natural choice in Vietnam because of the difficulty of finding fresh milk, and it just happens to work out perfectly based on the characteristics of the regionโs coffee.
The drink is either enjoyed hot or immediately poured into a glass with ice in order to drink while cold. Doesnโt it sound delicious?

]]>If you havenโt traveled to the northwestern Spanish region of Galicia before, you probably havenโt. Itโs a shame, though, because this coffee liquor is one of the most delicious alcoholic beverages that we’ve ever tried.
One of the main industries in Galicia is the production of wine, which is achieved by the process of the collection of millions of grapes from vineyards all over the area. The waste products from the wine-making process, such as grape skins and stems, are then used to make a local liquor which is known as orujo.
Orujo is the basis for the delicious coffee liquor which is so beloved in Galicia. The traditional preparation of this drink starts with a healthy dose of orujo, which is similar to brandy, which is left to sit in a glass container along with coffee beans, simple syrup, and spices such as cinnamon. Interestingly, orange and lemon skins are also added to this mixture, which is left to steep for around 2-3 weeks.
At the end of this period, the solid ingredients are strained out and licor cafe is left behind.
This delicious, pitch-black drink is rich and a great aperitif after a heavy dinner. It can also be combined with other alcoholic drinks such as Kahlua or cream spirits to make the alcoholic version of a coffee and milk drink.
Be sure to give coffee liquor a try if you ever find it!

]]>While most of us opt to go to a coffee shop that has pre-made cold brew ready for us to order, itโs actually super simple to make this refreshing drink at home! Hereโs how.
To start off, youโll want to use one ounce of coarsely-ground coffee beans for every cup (8 oz) of water that you use. So, if you want to make a quart (64 oz) of cold brew, youโll have to use four ounces of coffee!
Start off by taking a recipient thatโs large enough for the quantity of cold brew that youโre going to make and pouring in the cold water. Next, youโll want to add in the coarsely ground coffee beans and stir.
Youโll then cover the recipient with cheesecloth, using a rubber band to secure it along the edges of the opening. Put the recipient in the refrigerator for 12 hours to let the cold brew โsteep.โ
Finally, after 12 hours, take out the recipient. Use the cheesecloth that was covering the opening to strain the cold brew coffee from the grounds that have been created, placing another container under the flow of the coffee.
Thatโs it! Your cold brew is ready to drink. Keep it cold in the fridge, and enjoy!

]]>While it might be challenging at first, donโt stress! Hereโs a guide to help you understand what the main coffee and milk-based drinks are and what to choose from your local barista.
This drink, also known as โcafe con leche,โ is a simple European classic that simply consists of a ratio of half espresso and half hot milk. This drink is simple and isnโt foamy.
The cortado, a popular drink in Spain and in Latin America, is similar to the previous drink but contains about half of the milk. Want a strong, hot beverage? This one might be for you.
A latte is a milk-heavy beverage that combines about 1.5 parts of milk with 1 part espresso. Itโs typically topped with a thin amount of foam. A flat white is simply a version with less milk.
A cappuccino, from Italy in its origins, is for fans of lattes that are looking for just a little bit more foam in their drink. It contains more milk than coffee and has a generous layer of foam.
An americano is the only drink on this list that doesnโt have milk. Instead, it contains water that lessens the intensity of the espresso and makes it more similar to drip coffee.

Moka pot coffee produces a rich and delicious cup of Joe. It isnโt quite as strong as espresso, but it packs more flavor and punch than a traditional drip coffee maker.
Here are three tips to make sure that your moka pot coffee tastes as good as possible.
Using hot water in the moka pot at the beginning of the brewing process helps your moka pot coffee tastes smoother. Why? If you have to use too much heat on the stove to warm the water, you run the risk of toasting and burning the coffee, making a bitter cup of Joe.
Be diligent about cleaning your moka pot and all of its components. If you allow old coffee or grounds to sit inside of the moka pot without washing it, this allows for sour and unpleasant flavors to accumulate and contaminate the coffee you make.
Finally, be sure to remove the moka pot from heat as soon as possible. This also reduces the risk of burning the coffee that you make in the device.
