]]>Here is your guide to spring, miner, and distilled water and their similarities and differences.
Springwater originates from an underground water source that is collected when it reaches the earth’s surface. It hasn’t been treated by any man-made processes, but it still is tested for health and safety before being bottled and sold. It usually contains trace minerals.
Mineral water is similar to spring water in that it is collected from a natural underground water source. However, it contains higher amounts of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium. It can be treated to remove harmful minerals that affect taste such as iron.
Distilled water differs from spring and mineral water in that it comes from municipal water sources that have been treated to remove microbes and pollution. It isn’t any “dirtier” than mineral or spring water, it’s just undergone processes in order to ensure its cleanliness.

]]>The post Dehydrated? Drink This appeared first on falafelandcaviar.com.
]]>Science also now claims that water may not be the best drink to cure that.
While H20 is most people’s go-to when it comes to quenching their thirst, it turns out that the beverage doesn’t possess all the key ingredients required to ensure that your body is hydrated to the max.
According to David Nieman, a professor of public health at Appalachian State University and director of the Human Performance Lab at the North Carolina Research Campus, “If you’re drinking water and then, within two hours, your urine output is really high and [your urine] is clear, that means the water is not staying in well. There’s no virtue to that kind of consumption.”
So what should we be drinking?
A new study from Scotland’s St. Andrews University says milk.
Milk contains fat, protein, salt, and sugar which coat the stomach and allows the body to absorb it better.
Of the 13 beverages examined in the study, skim milk ranked top, followed by Pedialyte, full-fat milk, orange juice, soda, diet soda, cold tea, tea, sports drinks, still water, sparkling water, lager, and finally, coffee.
Drink up.

]]>While it’s possible to get some liquids from other sources, such as soft drinks and fruit juices, water is truly the best and healthiest option for staying hydrated. Here are four advantages to keeping your water intake up during summer.
This one might seem obvious, but the amount of sweat that we produce in summer makes it all the more important to be diligent about drinking water. You need to keep your body’s moisture levels at an optimum level, especially in summer.
Losing water via sweat and evaporation can slow down your brain if you aren’t drinking enough water. It’s important to do so in order to be at peak mental capacity.
Water serves to regulate body temperature. Drinking a cold glass of water in the summertime isn’t only refreshing, but it also reduces your risk of heatstroke.
Water is essential for maintaining normal kidney function, so if you want to reduce your risk for kidney stones and other renal ailments in summer, be sure to keep drinking water!

]]>Doctors and scientists recommend drinking about two liters of water a day to maintain a healthy and happy body for a variety of reasons.
Here are some of the more surprising health benefits of consistent water consumption, and how they can make you feel better.
While it might not be something you’d think about, it makes sense that drinking water keeps your skin moisturized and healthy. Dehydration generally leads to dry skin.
Your brain needs to be properly hydrated to work well. It’s harder to remember things and recall new things learned if your brain doesn’t have enough water for its cells.
Did you know that a dehydrated body doesn’t breathe as well as a hydrated one? Your body restricts airways to prevent fluid loss when dehydrated, meaning you don’t breathe as well.
Water is used to distribute nutrients and minerals to cells throughout the body. Obviously, the more water you drink, the easier this distribution will become.
People that drink lots of water generally don’t feel as hungry as those that don’t. Water helps satiate your body and reduce hunger pangs.
