Rice is one of the most popular choices for carbohydrates around the world. It’s a versatile grain that soaks up flavor and pairs perfectly with so many dishes. Aside from savory dishes, it can be used to create delicious sweet treats such as this creamy rice pudding. Using pudding rice is the easiest option here, but if you can’t find it then aborio can be used instead. Or if you have leftover white rice from a savory meal then this can also be used in this recipe, you may just need less time in the oven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup uncooked pudding rice
  • 3.5 cups full-fat milk
  • ¼ cup demerara sugar
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon dried nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon dried cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 340℉.
  2. Grease an ovenproof dish with a little butter or oil.
  3. Add all the ingredients (leaving a bit of nutmeg and sugar) to the dish and stir well.
  4. Sprinkle over the remaining nutmeg and sugar.
  5. Place in the oven for 50 minutes, until the top is well browned.
  6. Leave to stand for 5 minutes before serving with fruit or jam.

One of the great things about chicken is how versatile it is, and this recipe uses this to its advantage by utilizing a delicious Cajun spice blend. Cajun is a spice blend of paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and lots of other spices commonly found in Louisiana cuisine. It brings an incredible warmth and mild fieriness to this chicken dish, that goes great with rice.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tin of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • A sprinkle of Cajun magic (optional, but highly recommended)

Instructions

  1. Begin by sprinkling the Cajun seasoning generously over both sides of the chicken breasts, rubbing it in gently and evenly.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook until they’re golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Set them aside on a plate to rest.

If you want to make sushi at home, whether or not your sushi turns out well will depend on how good your sushi rice is. And it can definitely be tricky to make sushi rice successfully the first time, but these tips will help you get it right.

First, you have to get the right rice: Japanese short-grain rice, often labeled in stores as “sushi rice.” When in doubt, ask somebody who works in the store.

When it comes to actually make the rice, the most important first step is to wash the rice thoroughly, then leave it to soak for 30 minutes.

Ideally, you’ll do the actual cooking with a rice cooker, which allows for much more accuracy and control than cooking in a pot on the stove. If you anticipate making sushi often, investing in a rice cooker – even a cheap one – will be well worth it.

Now, to give the sushi rice the correct flavor, you have to season it with a combination of rice vinegar, salt, and sugar. For 3 cups of dry sushi rice, use half a cup of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of salt. Make sure to mix it well!

Enjoying a warm, healthy soup in the winter or autumn is the best thing you can do. The total cooking time for this chicken rice soup is just 35 minutes. All the ingredients below are very easy to get and the procedure so so simple. The recipe is meant for 4 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sliced celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 3/4 cup peeled carrots, cut lengthwise and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions:

  • Get a large pot and turn on the stove to medium heat.
  • Add the butter and wait for it to melt. Once it does, add the celery, onion, and carrots.
  • Cook them together for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Next, include the garlic and continue cooking for half a minute.
  • Include the chicken, salt, pepper, chicken broth, Italian seasoning. Wait for the soup to start simmering.
  • Let it cook for 10 to 15 more minutes. When the vegetables are soft you can add in the rice.
  • Cook the chicken rice soup for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve it right away topped off with parsley.

Instructions

  1. If you do not have leftover rice, go ahead and make that now. Simply use about 2.5 times more water than rice and combine it all in a pot.
  2. Put the heat on at medium and sprinkle in some salt.
  3. When it comes to a boil, lower it down to a simmer.
  4. Meanwhile, chop up garlic and any type of mushrooms and sautee them in olive oil or butter.
  5. Whisk in as much flour as you did fat and cook together for a few minutes to get the raw flour taste out.
  6. Add in regular or non-dairy milk and whisk it together until smooth.
  7. Season with dried sage or any hearty spice, as well as salt and pepper.

Rice is such a fun ingredient to play with when it comes to desserts, so try these two classic desserts tonight!

Rice Pudding

  1. Combine a pinch of salt, 1 1/2 cups of cooked rice and the same amount of the milk of your choice in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until its thick and creamy, about 15-20 minutes
  2. While it’s cooking, beat an egg in a small bowl and leave to the side.
  3. Once it has thickened, pour in another 1/2 cup of milk, 2/3 cup of raisins, 1/3 cup of sugar, and the egg mixture. Stir continuously so it doesn’t burn.
  4. After 2-3 minutes take it off the heat and add in 1 tablespoon of butter and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Paletas De Arroz Con Leche

  1. Put 3 cups of whole milk, 1 1/4 cups of water and a vanilla bean in a pot and bring to a simmer.
  2. Add in 1 cup of rice and 2 cinnamon sticks and cook for 20-30 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  3. Take out the cinnamon sticks and pour in a can of condensed milk mixed with two cups of water, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Cook until all the liquid has absorbed, pour into popsicle molds and set in the freezer!

Arroz con leche, me quiero casar, con una señorita de San Nicolás… Hola lindo y #healthy #martes 🙌🏻 Si vieron mis historias de ayer, hice paletas de arroz con leche y hoy las cubrí con chocolate, Cacao Nibs y Almendras, amo el arroz con leche pero la leche no me cae nada bien así que está es mi versión #sinlacteos Ingredientes: 4 tazas de leche de almendras (puedes usar de Coco) Stevia o miel de agave al gusto 2 tazas de arroz integral (poner a remojar una noche antes en agua caliente con vinagre)(puedes usar arroz blanco) Un par de ramas de Canela Una cáscara de limón 2 cucharaditas de extracto de vainilla 1/4 de taza de arándanos 1 cucharada de mantequilla de coco Canela en polvo Método: Calentar a fuego suave la leche junto con la Stevia, las ramas de canela, la vainilla y la cáscara del limón. Mientras lavamos el arroz y lo escurrimos bien del agua de remojo. Cuando la leche comience a hervir, añadimos el arroz y removemos. Dejamos a fuego bajo y esperamos a que el arroz se vaya cociendo en la leche cerca de una hora. Muy importante "no dejes de remover de vez en cuando para que no se queme ni se pegue", siempre puedes agregar más leche. Cuando lleve unos cincuenta minutos, si el arroz ya está hecho y queda poca leche agrega los arándanos, retira del fuego y deja reposar para que el arroz absorba la leche restante, una vez listo, quita la cáscara de limón, (sino la quitas se puede amargar) y la canela y añade la mantequilla de coco, mezcla muy bien removiendo hasta que todo esté perfectamente bien integrado (aquí también puedes agregar más leche) deja reposar, si te gusta caliente puedes servirlo con canela en polvo, pero si te gusta bien frío mételo al refrigerador por 3 o 4 horas (lo mejor es toda la noche), sirve de igual forma con canela en polvo, puedes agregar además coco rallado. Para las paletas solo pon la mezcla en moldes de paletas y congela por 4 o 6 horas, una vez congeladas cubre con chocolate 85% Cacao y tú topping favorito, disfruta!!! . . . . . . . . #arrozconleche #puddingrice #paletasdearrozconleche #arrozconlechevegano #vegan #popsicle

Grab a pan and start cooking the onions with the olive oil. Mix them often and cook for about 8 minutes until the onions are softer. Include the cauliflower with one teaspoon salt. One of the great things about chicken is how versatile it is, and this recipe uses this to its advantage by utilizing a delicious Cajun spice blend. Cajun is a spice blend of paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and lots of other spices commonly found in Louisiana cuisine. It brings an incredible warmth and mild fieriness to this chicken dish, that goes great with rice.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tin of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • A sprinkle of Cajun magic (optional, but highly recommended)

Instructions

  1. Begin by sprinkling the Cajun seasoning generously over both sides of the chicken breasts, rubbing it in gently and evenly.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook until they’re golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Set them aside on a plate to rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Sauté them until they’re softened and fragrant. Pour in the diced tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for a few minutes.

If you want to make sushi at home, whether or not your sushi turns out well will depend on how good your sushi rice is. And it can definitely be tricky to make sushi rice successfully the first time, but these tips will help you get it right.

First, you have to get the right rice: Japanese short-grain rice, often labeled in stores as “sushi rice.” When in doubt, ask somebody who works in the store.

When it comes to actually make the rice, the most important first step is to wash the rice thoroughly, then leave it to soak for 30 minutes.

Ideally, you’ll do the actual cooking with a rice cooker, which allows for much more accuracy and control than cooking in a pot on the stove. If you anticipate making sushi often, investing in a rice cooker – even a cheap one – will be well worth it.

Now, to give the sushi rice the correct flavor, you have to season it with a combination of rice vinegar, salt, and sugar. For 3 cups of dry sushi rice, use half a cup of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of salt. Make sure to mix it well!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sliced celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 3/4 cup peeled carrots, cut lengthwise and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions:

  • Get a large pot and turn on the stove to medium heat.
  • Add the butter and wait for it to melt. Once it does, add the celery, onion, and carrots.
  • Cook them together for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Next, include the garlic and continue cooking for half a minute.
  • Include the chicken, salt, pepper, chicken broth, Italian seasoning. Wait for the soup to start simmering.
  • Let it cook for 10 to 15 more minutes. When the vegetables are soft you can add in the rice.
  • Cook the chicken rice soup for 5 more minutes.
  • Serve it right away topped off with parsley.

Instructions

  1. If you do not have leftover rice, go ahead and make that now. Simply use about 2.5 times more water than rice and combine it all in a pot.
  2. Put the heat on at medium and sprinkle in some salt.
  3. When it comes to a boil, lower it down to a simmer.
  4. Meanwhile, chop up garlic and any type of mushrooms and sautee them in olive oil or butter.
  5. Whisk in as much flour as you did fat and cook together for a few minutes to get the raw flour taste out.
  6. Add in regular or non-dairy milk and whisk it together until smooth.

Rice is such a fun ingredient to play with when it comes to desserts, so try these two classic desserts tonight!

Rice Pudding

  1. Combine a pinch of salt, 1 1/2 cups of cooked rice and the same amount of the milk of your choice in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until its thick and creamy, about 15-20 minutes
  2. While it’s cooking, beat an egg in a small bowl and leave to the side.
  3. Once it has thickened, pour in another 1/2 cup of milk, 2/3 cup of raisins, 1/3 cup of sugar, and the egg mixture. Stir continuously so it doesn’t burn.
  4. After 2-3 minutes take it off the heat and add in 1 tablespoon of butter and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Paletas De Arroz Con Leche

  1. Put 3 cups of whole milk, 1 1/4 cups of water and a vanilla bean in a pot and bring to a simmer.
  2. Add in 1 cup of rice and 2 cinnamon sticks and cook for 20-30 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  3. Take out the cinnamon sticks and pour in a can of condensed milk mixed with two cups of water, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Cook until all the liquid has absorbed, pour into popsicle molds and set in the freezer!

Arroz con leche, me quiero casar, con una señorita de San Nicolás… Hola lindo y #healthy #martes 🙌🏻 Si vieron mis historias de ayer, hice paletas de arroz con leche y hoy las cubrí con chocolate, Cacao Nibs y Almendras, amo el arroz con leche pero la leche no me cae nada bien así que está es mi versión #sinlacteos Ingredientes: 4 tazas de leche de almendras (puedes usar de Coco) Stevia o miel de agave al gusto 2 tazas de arroz integral (poner a remojar una noche antes en agua caliente con vinagre)(puedes usar arroz blanco) Un par de ramas de Canela Una cáscara de limón 2 cucharaditas de extracto de vainilla 1/4 de taza de arándanos 1 cucharada de mantequilla de coco Canela en polvo Método: Calentar a fuego suave la leche junto con la Stevia, las ramas de canela, la vainilla y la cáscara del limón. Mientras lavamos el arroz y lo escurrimos bien del agua de remojo. Cuando la leche comience a hervir, añadimos el arroz y removemos. Dejamos a fuego bajo y esperamos a que el arroz se vaya cociendo en la leche cerca de una hora. Muy importante "no dejes de remover de vez en cuando para que no se queme ni se pegue", siempre puedes agregar más leche. Cuando lleve unos cincuenta minutos, si el arroz ya está hecho y queda poca leche agrega los arándanos, retira del fuego y deja reposar para que el arroz absorba la leche restante, una vez listo, quita la cáscara de limón, (sino la quitas se puede amargar) y la canela y añade la mantequilla de coco, mezcla muy bien removiendo hasta que todo esté perfectamente bien integrado (aquí también puedes agregar más leche) deja reposar, si te gusta caliente puedes servirlo con canela en polvo, pero si te gusta bien frío mételo al refrigerador por 3 o 4 horas (lo mejor es toda la noche), sirve de igual forma con canela en polvo, puedes agregar además coco rallado.
