Bone broth is a relatively new health food trend, but the idea is not new at all. A bone broth is a more intense version of a traditional stock, with the idea of pulling flavor out of animal bones. Where it differs in the time it takes to cook, as bone broth is just as much about extracting nutrients as it is about flavor. After cooking it for so long, you wil have extracted a lot of collagen, calcium, and many other minerals. Bone broth is said to be great for gut health, problems with joints, and more. Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need 2 pounds of any type of bones, while beef is one of the most common. You can get them from your grocery store and if not, ask your butcher! You will also need 1 onion, 2 carrots, 2 stalks of celery, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 cloves of garlic.

Recipe

Roast your bones at 350 F for 30 minutes to pull out their flavor more. Soak them in a pot with water and the vinegar for 30 more minutes, and chop the vegetables while you wait. Then, add the vegetables, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for 7-8 hours, scrape off the impurities that rise to the top, and then use it in all your favorite soups!
