Delicious and Effortless Recipes With Za’atar

Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend that combines tangy lemony sumac with earthy marjoram, oregano, and other spices. Za’atar is versatile, rich, and an easy way to elevate any dish!

Roasted Potatoes

Za’atar kicks up regular potatoes a few notches with no added effort! These potatoes spice up a normally predictable side dish and will surely impress your friends at a dinner party. Just toss your potatoes with oil and za’atar, roast and be amazed.

Pita Chips

Pita bread is an absolute staple in Israeli cuisine for good reason. A great variation of this classic is to make pita chips, and even better-za’atar pita chips! These chips are a great substitution for boring crackers, and can be eaten as a snack or served as hors-d’oeuvres at any party. This recipe is so simple and delicious and takes no time at all.

Yogurt Sauce

A great accompaniment to either dish above is a za’atar dipping sauce! Yogurt and za’atar are very often combined in the Middle East, especially with labneh, a Lebanese yogurt. If you can’t find labneh in your local grocery store, you can use plain Greek yogurt! Either way, this recipe involves only a dish and some olive oil, but make sure to make enough, it’ll be gone quick!
