This simple recipe gives sensational results, allowing you to get your green veggies in a uniquely delicious way. This classic combination of creamy veg and crunchy onion topping is enough to persuade even the pickiest child to eat vegetables.

Why not take this dish along with you to your next cookout or family supper? You can whip it up in no time, and it looks like you’ve spent hours slaving over a hot stove.

It’s a favorite for Thanksgiving, but in our opinion, deserves a place at the dinner table no matter what time of the year it is. You can serve this over white or brown rice as a main dish, or as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14 ½ ounces each) French-style green beans (drained)
  • 1 can (10 ¾ ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 can (2.8 ounces) French-fried onions

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Spray or grease a 1 ½ quart glass baking dish or casserole to prevent sticking.
  • Mix together the drained green beans, mushroom soup, and milk. Pour into the baking dish.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until bubbling. Top with the French-fried onions 5 minutes before removing from the oven.
