Stop Buying These Spice Mixes and Make Them At Home!

Whenever you are looking to build flavor in a meal, spices are almost always the way to go. They provide so many different assets to a dish, and without them, your dishes won’t taste the same.

A lot of people go for the prepackaged spice mixes, which is a huge waste of money and not as healthy! It only takes a minute to make them at home, so why not give it a try?

Taco Seasoning

Taco seasoning is loaded full of salt, and you don’t need all that in your diet. Instead, make your own at home! Combine 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic, onion, crushed red pepper, and dried oregano powder each, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cumin, and 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper each. Mix well, store in a jar or container, and use whenever!

Cinnamon Sugar

Whether it’s going into your coffee or on top of your oatmeal, never buy cinnamon sugar at the store! All you need to do is combine 1/2 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and you’re set! If you want to add a little more spice, add in 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon of cloves as well.
