This Mozzarella Donut Will Change Your Life

Introducing the deep-fried mozzarella donut—a crispy, golden exterior with gooey, melted mozzarella cheese on the inside. Yes, you read that right. This crispy delight is a fun twist on mozzarella sticks you’ll love. 

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the fresh mozzarella into small cubes. Place the mozzarella in a donut mold and cook in the oven until melted. Let the cheese cool. 
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bread crumbs, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until thoroughly combined. Combine wet and dry ingredients. 
  4. In a deep saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F. Use enough oil to submerge the donuts.
  5. Take each mozzarella donut and dip it into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Gently transfer the coated donut into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside. 
  6. Serve the deep-fried mozzarella donuts with sauce and enjoy!
