Treat yourself to Watermelon Grill this Summer

Prepare to amaze your guests with this creative grill that’s made out of a watermelon and other fruit. It’s gorgeous to look at and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

1 medium round watermelon
3 cucumbers
2 lime slices
1-pint raspberries
1-pint blackberries
Feta cheese, cubed
Fresh basil leaves
Balsamic glaze
Toothpicks
12-inch bamboo skewers
6-inch bamboo skewers

  1. Cut watermelon in half, scoop out the insides, and cube the flesh. Assemble grill at its final location. Use one half of the melon as the grill base, and the other as the lid. Cut off a thin round of rind to make the lid handle. Use toothpicks to attach the handle to the lid.
  2. For grill legs, cut cucumbers at an angle at each end. Secure legs with 12-inch skewers. Add lime rounds as wheels to 2 of the legs using toothpicks. Fill the melon with berries to act as ‘coals’. Use about 10 12-inch skewers as grates, cutting off any excess.
  3. Place feta, melon, and basil on 6-inch skewers drizzle with balsamic glaze to represent grill marks and add to grill. Stack remaining fruit skewers next to the grill.
