Tzatziki is a traditional Greek yogurt sauce that is absolutely sumptuous. The main stars are yogurt, cucumbers, and dill, so there are a lot of flavors going on that all work super well together. This sauce can be used as a simple but powerful veggie dip, on the side for falafel or other fried types of patties, or even on your burger instead of mayo. Making it at home couldn’t be easier, so let’s get started!
Instructions
- First, start off by cutting a cucumber in half. Unless you’re using an English cucumber, scrape out the seeds. You can decide whether you want to peel it or not.
- Then, dice it into very small pieces and put it in a cloth. Try to wring out as much water from them as you can.
- Then, add them to a bowl of Greek yogurt.
- Chop up fresh dill and add that into the bowl as well.
- Then, squeeze in a whole lemon and pour in a few glugs of olive oil.
- Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Finish with an extra drizzle of olive oil and some fresh pieces of dill on top. Enjoy right away or keep in the fridge for up to 3 days!
