3 Reasons to Ditch Nutella and Never Look Back

It’s pretty much impossible to name a chocolate spread brand more popular than Nutella, and some people can’t imagine a single day without it. It’s tough to say no to its perfect combo of chocolate and hazelnuts, but you should probably try to eliminate it from your diet for more reasons than one.

Not That Healthy

Don’t let the fact that Nutella contains hazelnuts trick you into thinking it’s a healthy spread. They only make up for 13% of the final product, and this tiny amount doesn’t change the fact that Nutella is packed with sugar, fats, and processed oils, which are doing you more harm than good.

Environmental Impact

In addition to being bad for your health, Nutella isn’t doing the rest of the world any good. It contains a high amount of palm oil, which has been heavily associated with deforestation. Despite public outcry to replace this ingredient with a more eco-friendly alternative, Ferrero is yet to make a step towards making Nutella better for the environment.

Healthier Alternatives

Giving up Nutella doesn’t necessarily mean ditching chocolate spreads altogether. You can opt for one of the better alternatives, such Nocciolata and Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter. If you don’t want to put your trust in them, you can always try making homemade Nutella with ingredients of your own choosing.
