🌰Why chia seeds? – 🌰I had no idea what chia seeds were when I first started my weight loss journey. I mean I've heard of it, but I had this mini grudge against anything that was labeled as a "premium superfood". I mean there are plenty of superfoods around us that don't need to cost a premium. Berries, fish, leafy greens, nuts, whole grains are all superfoods too. – 🌰1 tablespoon of chia seeds is roughly: – 🌰60kcal 🌰2g fiber 🌰2g protein 🌰2.5g omega 3s – 🌰You also get a bunch of other nutrients like calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus but that's all just a bonus to me. I simply love how flexible chia seeds are. I've put them in soup, overnight oats, yogurt, water, protein shakes, cookies, cake, it's like nutrients at my fingertips. – 🌰My favorite ways to use them are: – 🌰1) Baking. In pancakes, cakes, cookies. It's less about me but more about kiddos in this case. Everyday it's a struggle to get them to finish their fruits & veggies but chia seeds, ohhhh chia seeds they have no idea what hit them. That's also the reason why I add a little bit of koko krunch or M&Ms it's basically to mask the texture of chia seeds. – 🌰I've never lost that battle with the kiddos… yet. – 🌰Another thing about chia seeds and baking is that it acts as a binding agent. Chia seeds become gooey and sticky once it's soaked in liquid for a little bit. It makes my "healthy" baked goods firmer, a more 'normal' texture. The alternative would be flour. Cheaper yes, but I'd rather spend on health now than for medical bills. – 🌰2) Protein shakes. I make my protein shakes with water to minimize the calories. I remember once I added a tbsp of chia to the shake, I forgot why, but it tasted sooooo magnificent. It become kinda like bubble tea. It’s my standard mix nowadays. – 🌰3) Overnight oats. During my vegan days I use to make overnight oats for breakfast. The mix was soymilk, oats, chia seeds, flaxseeds and fruits. It was my first step into meal prepping as I’d prep 5-6 jars for the next few days. Chia seeds helped thicken the oats into this.. I don’t know what to call it. It was pretty good though. – 🌰What are your thoughts on Chia seeds? Like em? Hate em?

Water

Fatigue often happens as a result of low blood pressure. You can easily fight it by drinking a glass or two of water. Stay away from bubbly drinks. Being properly hydrated at all times is very important for a healthy body.

Lemon

Not everyone can stand to eat a whole lemon just like that. Luckily, there are so many options to include it in your daily routine. Adding a few pieces of lemon in your glass of water should do the job.
