Brussels Sprouts Cutting Techniques That You Have to Master ASAP

Brussels sprouts are one of the seasonal veggies that you should be eating on a regular basis this winter because they come with a long list of healthy properties. They can be cooked in many different ways, and the preparation technique will determine how you should cut them.

X Cut

There are times when your Brussels sprouts are best left whole, especially if you’re using them for blanching. In this case, you should just cut off their stem ends, and carve a tiny X into their core with the tip of a knife.

Halved or Whole

If you’re planning to sauté or roast your Brussels sprouts, you’ll just have to get rid of their stem ends and cut them in half or keep them whole, depending on the size.

Thinly Sliced

Thinly sliced Brussels sprouts come with a long list of different uses and you can cook them in many different ways. Just like halved sprouts, they can be sautéed and roasted, but you can also prepare them inside an air fryer or eat them raw.

Most people roast their Brussels sprouts, but how about putting them inside your salads and slaws? If you’re thinking of using them this way, shredded sprouts are your best option, and you can also use them in quick sautés and stir-fries.
