Chickpeas Brownies Will Surprise You in All the Best Ways

When you hear chickpeas and brownies, surely your mind doesn’t automatically go to something delicious and sweet. However, these chickpea brownies are surprisingly delicious and a lot healthier than regular brownies! They are also gluten-free, and can be made vegan if you use dark chocolate chips. So let’s get started!

Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:
15 oz can of chickpeas
half a cup of peanut butter
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
2 tablespoons of honey (or agave if you want to make it vegan)
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
½ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of baking soda and powder each
as many chocolate chips you want

Instructions

First, preheat your oven to 350 F.

Then, drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Alternatively, you can use homemade chickpeas if you want to make it even healthier!

Pour all the ingredients into a food processor except for the chocolate chips and blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture from the food processor into a baking dish that has been greased by butter or coconut oil, and spread it out evenly.

Finally, place the chocolate chips all over the top.

Bake in the oven for exactly 18 minutes and let the brownies cool before slicing into them and enjoying!
