French toast is one of my favorite treats for breakfast. While it obviously isn’t something that you can eat for breakfast every morning, when you want something sweet and different, it’s hard to go wrong with french toast.

One of my favorite twists to put on this classic recipes is to combine it with chocolate, which creates a cinnamony, chocolately, eggy treat that you won’t soon forget. Here’s how to make it!

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of thickly-cut bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 ml chocolate milk
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Start off by cracking the eggs into a shallow bowl and then adding the chocolate milk, white sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  2. Place a large frying pan on medium-high heat and place a generous amount of butter inside, waiting for it to melt.
  3. Once your liquid mixture is consistent and ready, go ahead and take a couple of slices of bread and dip them quickly (1-2 seconds) on each side.
  4. When the pieces of bread have been dipped, transfer them into the frying pan that contains butter. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the sides acquire a golden-brown color.
  5. After you’ve taken the first two slices of bread out, replenish the butter in the pan and repeat this step after each subsequent slice removal.

Enjoy!
