Yes, matcha is one of the most popular drinks that everyone is talking about! We found one that’s even better and tastier, just in time for summer. This iced matcha horchata is officially the drink of your dreams. It’s so easy to make and will help you go through the heat with ease.

  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/3 cup uncooked white rice
  • 5 cups hot water (it shouldn’t be boiling)
  • 1/3 c coconut flakes
  • 1/3 c cashews
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup canned coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder for 8 oz horchata.

Start by adding the cinnamon and rice into the hot water for 8 to 10 hours. Leave the bowl in the fridge.

When the time is up, add this mixture to a blender and include the coconut flakes and cashews as well. Pulse for a few minutes until the drink gets a creamy texture.

Get a strainer and pour the liquid over it. Discard whatever’s left on the strainer.

Add the 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 cup maple syrup, and 1/2 cup canned coconut milk to the liquid.

Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour the drink over it. The last step is to add 1 teaspoon matcha powder.

Mix it well, and your matcha horchata is ready!
